Yoga is Wholeness.
It is both the experience of wholeness
and the practices that allow us to rest into it.
Practice might look like:
healthy and enjoyable routines that nourish you deeply,
fluidity, softening, gentling of the body and mind,
reflection with paper and a pen or a friend,
waiting for the clarity of right action,
rituals that bring you into loving,
resting and receiving,
Presence isn't about fixing everything with the mind.
Presence is our willingness to be with what is unfolding in the moment
with the heart, the body, the breath and the mind.
My days continue to feel strangely tumultuous while simultaneously peaceful. I find myself aware of daily gratitude for our home and our few acres of land. We are outside of the city and in this time of social distancing it means internet access in order to feel connected to the news and our community. Some days I read and research on-line and then search my heart in response. Some days I choose to attend to my fingers in the dirt, the dragonflies who need rescue from the chicken coop, the variety of frog calls from our pond and the fireflies dancing under the moon. I have time to sit on my parent's porch and talk to them - from at least six feet away. I have time for my kids - for attempting a variety of ways to pull their attention from screens. I feel a strong call to listen intently, to notice the import of the shifts that have occurred - continue to occur. I feel a tug from my heart, a sense of devotion, towards a new practice of writing and am wondering about what it might become. It has been difficult for me to commit to this tug, to this internal calling that appears to be the work before me. Yet it feels essential for me to stay home a little longer and give my heart, my writing and my body the time to reflect, integrate, respond and transform. I hope each of you are noticing the calls for your own attention and that you find the strength, energy and resilience to respond from your heart, for us all!
Wild Honey Yoga connection
July and August Tuesdays 9:30-11:00
Wild Honey Yogaclasses will be offered on-line throughout July and August. Updates and any necessary cancellations will be posted at www.greenework.com/yoga. Please feel free to reach out if you have any class suggestions, questions or simply want to check in. I am continuing to monitor corona virus reports and best practices in hopes of being able to provide a safe and inviting space for us to meet in the future. There are many considerations my friends and I am going to take this slowly for the well-being of all.
Individual Yoga classes are possible through zoom. This might be the perfect time to explore a personal practice that is just for you. Individual sessions can be spent asking questions, engaging in the exploration of postures you find challenging or in creating a short yoga flow that you can use at home.
Massage and Bodywork will be on hiatus until the beginning of September. By this time, I am hoping to feel more comfortable about scheduling limited clients following national, state and massage guidelines for health and safety. It seems counter-productive to offer massage in our small space when proximity and the length of timespent together encourage the ability of the virus to spread. If you have any questions or would like to talk about ways to support your body or simply want to check in, I would enjoy connecting via phone or email.
The decision to re-engage will be informed by the health of our community. There will be new routines and requirements that will feel a little strange and uncomfortable yet we know that as we practice new things we grow our capacity to hold them! Here are a few of the new requirements that we can start to integrate into our awareness:
Masks will be required for therapist and client throughout the session.
Conversation will be limited during session time due to our proximity.
We will have time to check in and chat on the phone before the session begins.
The waiting room will be your car.
In order to disinfect the therapy room and allow for air circulation, clients will be scheduled at least an hour apart. This will mean less sessions per week.
Session times may be decreased to 60 minutes or less.
If you are feeling ill or have been near someone who has tested positive for covid-19 within the past two weeks, the session will need to be rescheduled at no cost to you.
If I am feeling ill or discover I have possibly been exposed to the virus, I will cancel and reschedule all sessions until it is safe for me to resume.
If these requirements seem doable to you and it would feel helpful to put your name on a waiting list for September, please email me with pertinent information and when I have a better sense of how the timing of sessions comes together you will be first on my list of clients to call. I miss you all and look forward to the time when I can safely and attentively offer you nurturing, healing touch!
