Our September 2014 Newsletter!

Kids are back to school...
and so are you!

Our August Newsletter offered some "Back to School Tips" to ease the transition from summer to school.

After all, change may be good, but it's not necessarily easy for children with autism. Moving from the laid-back fun in the summer to school with a new setting, new rules, homework, and different routines can be a big jump for parents and children alike.

The truth is: Kids are back to school and so are you! It's time to do their homework, get your child to bed on time, write down recommendations for the teacher, wake up, get dressed, pack their bags, and head to school, among other important things...

But with a little preparation and positive attitude, we are sure that you will make it one to remember!

Wishing you all a smooth transition into the 2014-2015 school year!

Early Intervention services
for your child!

There is no doubt that Early Intervention is your child's best hope for the future. As Wendy L. Stone, PhD and Theresa Foy Digeromino, MEd, explain in their article: Does My Child Have Autism?, Early Intervention "will give your child and the rest of the family several important benefits that you will not gain if you take a wait-and-see approach until your child enters school at age 4-5."

So what are you waiting for? An early Intervention program for your child should be implemented as soon as possible after he/she receives a diagnosis. After all, "Early Intervention will improve the outcome for your child."

September 17th-19th, 2014

Every year, Behavior Analysts in Florida attend FABA (Florida Association for Behavior Analysis), a 3-day conference to promote the ethical and effective application of ABA principles and obtain continuing education credits in the field.

This year, FABA is being held on September 17th-19th in Bonita Springs, FL. Our very own Claudia Marmol will be attending this conference and will be bringing back all of the knowledge from the most current research being conducted in ABA.

If you would like to learn more about FABA, visit their website: http://fabaworld.org
