A huge thank you to all those that took part in Montol this year, it was a great success and a lot of fun. The festival returns on Wednesday December 21st 2016, In the mean time St Justin have produced a lovely set of Montol themed broaches and necklaces which are now available to purchase from their Penzance store (situated in the Wharfside Shopping Centre). For each item sold a small contribution is made to the Cornish Culture Association.

St Piran's Day 2016.
The celebration of Cornwall's patron saint grows every year. The CCA will collect and maintain a list of events being run across the Duchy and post it on our website during the run to March 5th- watch this space. In the mean time we are pleased to announce our band "The Raffidy Dunmitz Band" will be appearing at Redruth's St Piran's Day celebrations.

Paul Pitcher Night.
January the 24th is traditionally Paul Pitcher night in Cornwall.   A quirky and unique custom that involves smashing pots and pitchers and replacing them with pots and pitchers full of beer. Click here to see a video of Paul Pitcher night from a 2013.

Local community steering groups.
The CCA is looking for people to help support the events that it runs. We will be setting up several "Local community steering groups" to help support the work of the association. The first 3 will be in Penzance, Redruth/Camborne and Penryn. The Penryn group will be supporting an exciting new event set to take place in the Autumn, more news about this will be in our next news letter. If you would like to be involved in your local area then please email the Director of the CCA, Simon Reed @ 

One of our 6 Penzance events, Candlemas takes place on the 31st of January this year. Based on a custom at one time found at Godolphin House, this is a Mock Feast that marks the end of our "Guising" season. Tickets and full information can be found by clicking here.
