Penzance May Hornes 2015.
This Sunday May 3rd at 7.45pm.
This Sunday sees the return of Penzance May Hornes the annual celebration of the return of Summer and the banishing of the Devil of Winter. The event is open to everyone. Starting at 7.45pm at the Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn we will walk top Penzance led by our Master of Ceremonies, Lord and Lady of the May, Old Ned and Teaser. We have a surprise new participant who will meet us at the Larrigan river!
Please bring whistles and horns to make as loud a noise as possible! We will be heading towards the Admiral Benbow in Penzance. After our arrival an evening of revelry will take place with traditional dancing, music, rum and junketing!
If you have mobility issues please feel free to meet us en route to the Benbow or at the Benbow itself (8.20pm estimated arrival).
What to wear! Optional - Green or White - covered in May Greenery and or flowers. The Benbow will be similarly decorated.
