Gardening Workdays
Tomorrow Saturday 9th
We hope to do an inventory of our gardening equipment and reorganise the space used to store this equipment to ensure it is more accessible to the children. Kevin Brokenshire (Class VIII Teacher) and Derek Lee (Caretaker) are extremely grateful for any help you can offer tomorrow morning from 10am.
 
February
We are working with a number of community members to plant an orchard on the Green. We are hoping to plant the trees at the end of next month towards the North of the Green. Although the children will be involved, some of this work will require some adult input and any parental help would be much appreciated.
 
March
The children need some sheltered seed beds for their gardening lesson. Again parental involvement to construct and set up these beds would be much appreciated.
 
If you are interested in helping out during the gardening workdays please let the office know. Thank you!
New emails
As you know we have now migrated to a new email provider. However we are currently experiencing some teething problems, which we very much hope will be ironed out once we understand better out to use the new system!

Please note that we have 2 new email addresses:

absence@stpaulssteinerschool.org - please use  this address for all communication about absences (notification of , before 8.30am or absence notes, once your child has returned to school);

admissions@stpaulssteinerschool.org - this email address is for all communication about admissions only;

The address schooloffice@stpaulssteinerschool.org is the main email address for the school.

finance@stpaulssteinerschool.org should be used for all queries with regards to finance

A communication policy will follow as soon as all the changes have taken place.

A letter from Jim Sharp, Chair of Trustees

Dear Parents,

A very happy new year to you all and welcome back to the new term.

As you will remember, Mrs Miller took a leave of absence from the school at the end of last term due to her husband's illness. Unfortunately, his condition has not improved over the past weeks. She is caring for him full time and is not able to return to school yet.

Mrs Helen Weatherhead, who served as a trustee of St. Paul's for many years, was a teacher at King's Langley Steiner School prior to that and is a school inspector, has very generously offered to cover part of Mrs Miller's role in her absence and will be in the school one or two days per week, where her existing commitments allow. This interim arrangement will minimise the day to day disruption caused by Mrs Miller's absence and ensure that the projects she has been working on can continue as much as possible. Most importantly she will be able to support the teachers in their work with the children.

We will be putting other steps in place to support the continuing development of the School and will keep you regularly up-dated. Any communication for Mrs Weatherhead's attention should be sent via the School office.

We had scheduled the All School Meeting on 4th February. The purpose of this meeting is to develop the vision for the school's development. In the light of Mrs Miller's absence, this meeting will be postponed. The Annual General Meeting will go ahead as announced on that day.

Community Professionals
The Middle School Teachers would like to organise an assembly where Class VI - VIII students could meet and talk to members of our community about their profession and career pathway. We would like to collate a list of parents who would be able to attend – middle school assemblies are held each Tuesday from 12.35 - 1.15pm

If you are able to help out, please could you get in touch with the school office with the following information – your name, your profession or job title and contact details.
