Thank you for your all your care and support for us as a family ... John may need extra care now as he turned 50 in October ....
We hope that you are well amidst Covid and all that is going along with that worldwide ... we are living in very interesting times!
Can't believe that November is upon us! We have been very grateful to have some sense of normality with work and school over the past few months. We have always loved working from home - so are grateful that we have been able to not have too many changes. John has had a busy few months with lots coaching and training over zoom as well as recently starting to do some 'face to face' training in small groups. We have both enjoyed time with our new GC2 groups and Lorna continues to do some J-Life work alongside organising and being available to the kids and their schedules. The farm sale has also been a huge item on our agenda. We are still waiting on paperwork etc in order for finality, but John's dad, Bhuti and Jann and family, Thabo and Dineo and family have now moved off site for the new owner to move on. We are so grateful to the Lord for so many years of ministry at Camp Eden - it was such a blessing to so many ... but we felt that the time was right to make a change and we are grateful to the Lord for his provision and guidance in the process. Everyone is currently renting accommodation and are adapting well to their new circumstances and surroundings. Once everything is final and has gone through, we will look at new accommodation options for J-Life SA.
The kids are still missing life's routines ... but are starting to have some small group gatherings and evening church etc. Jordz is still helping out at the church pre school and doing intern work with kids and teens. She celebrated her 19th birthday with breakfast with family and then cake and coldrink in the park with friends. She would value your prayers for what the Lord wants for her next year and long term. Nate just had a week holiday and is due to start exams in a week. He had a lovely few days away on a surfing trip with some friends which he loved. Jamie continues to keep us on our toes! He is happy, busy, full of questions and energy! He enjoyed his school holiday a few weeks ago - a hilight being a visit to the aquarium (he loves animals, fish etc!)
We celebrated John's 50th birthday in October! What a milestone and cause for jubilee! Due to covid, we decided to have a few celebrations to keep numbers down. It was great to celebrate the Lord's continued goodness and blessing with friends and family over His 50 years!
Thank you for your continued interest in our lives as a family and for your prayer and financial support. Please keep praying for the work of J-Life all over the continent and please pray particularly for:
Protection and provision for all of our regional directors, country leaders and field workers and their families during this tough time. Some of our field workers find themselves in countries that are very volatile with lots of political turmoil in these times.
That the J-Life 2030 vision is daily owned and worked towards by all our regional directors, country leaders and field workers.
Wisdom and insight as we seek to be obedient to what the Lord has for J-Life - as we journey with many people in many different contexts.
Direction for Jordz for next year
Nate's upcoming exams
Daily wisdom, energy and capacity for us as parents. Good, fun family times to love, learn, build memories and grow together.
The continued emphasis on MAKING DISCIPLES!
God bless and take care of you and please remember to let us know how we can pray for you.
With love, thanks and prayers
John, Lorna, Jordz, Nate & Jamie
