John & Lorna
It has been great to have John home this year with very little travelling (we planned this as we knew that we would like to adopt this year). He is currently away on a short trip to Austria for GYI (Global Youth Initiative) meetings and this will be his last of very few trips for the year.

It's been a busy year with Jordan in her final year of school, Nate in Grade 9 and then adding Jamie to the mix! There has been a lot of adjusting at home to a new member of the family ... but we thank the Lord for Jamie's life and how he has fitted in so well!

J-Life has continued to expand and we continue to need much wisdom and capacity as we seek to follow all the Lord has for the ministry.  John has been busy with starting new GC2 groups in the Cape Town area as well as doing all the tasks necessary to fulfill his role.  I have been trying to get some admin work done - although time has not always been on my side (balancing the kids schedules etc has been quite a task over the last 5 months or so).  At the moment, we are focused on the J-Life summit which happens in February 2020 and is being held in Cape Town.  We are having all our J-Life country leaders and their wives attending - which is a first in almost 20 years.  We have always wanted spouses to join - and it is finally going to be a reality.  We are also taking another trip to Israel in March - so there is much to be done.  We have a great team of staff - for which we are really grateful!

We are celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary in December - so have just come back from a weekend away to celebrate as December is too busy!  We stayed in Hermanus (a holiday town outside of Cape Town) and had a great time of catching up!  We are so grateful for 25 years of being best friends and having a very happy marriage!
Weekend away in Hermanus - thank you Lord for 25 wonderful years!

It's been a very big year for Jordz ... school was busy with prefect duties and academics.  She is so glad to be finished her final exams - her results will only come out in early January. She celebrated her 18th birthday with friends on the beach and then with family at Silvermine Dam. She got her drivers license on her first attempt (for our American friends - in South Africa you can only get your license when you turn 18) which she was very grateful for! She has continued to love Cape Town and spending time with friends and being involved at church and has just got back from a 5 day camping trip to Jeffrey's Bay with church friends - celebrating the end of matric.  She has decided to take a ministry year next year .... and is busy finalising what that looks like.  She hopes to do J-Life ministry training and to intern at our church as well as spending 3 months in the USA learning from a church and youth ministry there.

Nate is so glad to be finished exams and on holiday ... 3 weeks of writing exams can feel VERY long!  Next year he will be in Grade 10 and has been able to choose the subjects he enjoys.  He is loving his bodyboarding and is so glad to have 'chill time' at the beach. He has enjoyed being involved in a small group at church and has continued to serve in the kids ministry and loves being at youth.  He enjoyed the missions trip in the September holidays and is looking forward to a big youth camp in January.
Jamie has continued to settle really well.  He officially become ours on the 7th of October (John's birthday).  We went to court and the whole process took all of 5 minutes ... the magistrate even got him to stamp his own papers ... God is good!  His paperwork is still being processed but nothing can now be reversed - so he is officially ours.  He loved being at the school at our church and has now graduated to Grade 1!  He will be going to a small school next year - in order for us to make sure that he has a good foundation going forward.  He is a live wire and keeps us on our toes!  It has been a big adjustment for all of us - but we are taking a day at a time and asking the Lord for much wisdom and energy.  We are grateful for his little life and for the growth that we are seeing as he settles and has found his 'new normal' in his forever family.  Thanks to all of you for how you have been praying for him and this journey that we are on.
Thank you again for your amazing friendship and support through prayer and finances!

Please phone, whatsapp or email us at any time with YOUR prayer requests - we love to keep up with what is happening in your life!

God bless

Sending much love and thanks

John, Lorna, Jordz, Nate and Jamie
