2022 J-Life Africa Newsletter #4

Dear Friends all over the world!

At the end of this Thanksgiving month we would love to thank the Lord for His kindness and provision over 2022 and thank YOU for joining us in prayer and support in so many different ways ... friendship, finance, sending missions teams, checking in on us, supporting our fundraisers ETC!!

As you come to the end of this year and may be deciding how to invest further in the Kingdom, we would ask you to please pray through the possibility of supporting J-Life financially. We would love to have you on board supporting through year end gifts, once off donations or monthly contributions. Please see details at the end of the newsletter for details.

This newsletter contains testimonies from some of our team in Africa and a few who are based in the USA. We hope you enjoy reading with us and are encouraged to see how God is at work as we endeavor to live out the mandate to make disciples who make disciples ....

Thankful: We are so thankful for our prayer and financial partners in the ministry - some who have been with us for over 20 years! We are thankful for opportunities that the Lord has given us in our local church and community to build relationships and disciple others. Also so thankful to the Lord to see our own children involved in Kingdom work.

Thankful: We are so thankful for God’s protection and provision as we have traveled to visit J-Life partner churches across America. We are also thankful to see J-Life country leaders stepping out in partner raising and how the Lord has provided.

Story/Testimony: It has been so encouraging seeing a pastor catch the vision of generational disciple-making and the momentum it has produced.

John 3: 16 Miles for J-Life Walk/Run Fundraiser

Thank you to the wonderful team and individuals who helped plan and organize the John 3:16 Miles for J-Life Walk/Run Fundraiser in September and October!

Thank you to you, whether you ran or walked where you were, joined us at our events in China Grove, North Carolina or in Hopewell Junction, New York, or gave financially.

We had 28 participants who raised a total of $3500-00! This will go towards the costs of pioneering into new countries and training more leaders to start disciple making movements with others. So exciting! We praise the Lord for his provision!

We so appreciate your giving heart and investment into transforming lives and communities with the good news and love of Jesus Christ!

Thankful: We thank God that finally we are expecting our second child after 12 years of prayer!

Story/Testimony: We just finished our internship programme which saw 26 interns from 17 churches trained. They are already implementing the training back in their local churches. We are receiving calls from their pastors on the awesome job that they are doing.

Thankful: I am thankful for the way God has healed our daughter from severe mental illness and restored our souls after the loss of my mother.

Story/Testimony: God provided a partner to fund our trip to Lesotho. God has blessed some on our team with new financial partners after they applied our Partner Development training.

Thankful: We are thankful for our healthy, happy, contented babies that were born in March this year

Story/Testimony: I have been encouraged by testimonies from people who have been impacted by using the various 'Devotionals in the Life of Christ' that are available on the J-Life APP

Thankful: I am thankful for the healing of my life and that we have been able to spend time together with my family after staying apart for two years. I am also thankful that my wife was able to pass four courses in her nursing career which was a miracle as she wrote under difficult situations.

Story/Testimony: We successfully hosted the Frisco missions team where God gave a number of ministry opportunities. The short term missions trip had an impact in the communities and local school around the ministry centre. About 50 people gave their lives to Jesus and we have continued to journey with some so that they can be mature christians and disciple makers!

Thankful: We are thankful to the First Baptist Church McKinney Youth Group for having been a channel of divine provision in the ministry we are doing in our country. With your donations we have overcome some major challenges. Your investment in our life and ministry is already bearing fruit and we pray that it will continue.

Thankful: I am thankful for deeper roots serving in South Africa. The Lord continues to open doors and build community around me.

Story/Testimony: I loved getting plugged in to my local church this year! Taking them through our Disciplemaking Small Groups training resulted in the multiplication of our small groups, which are now focused on multiplying disciplemakers in a more intentional way.

Thankful: I am thankful for God's protection over my family and the families of our leaders

Story/Testimony: Recently two of our team (MBX's) were doing door to door evangelism. The Holy Spirit lead them to a house where a woman was posessed by a demon. They prayed for her and she was delivered from being bound. Because of what happened, three people received Jesus including the local leader of the village who witnessed what happened!

Another testimony is that the news of the ministry of J-Life is spreading through life transformation and fruit bearing in communities - recently two churches and one ministry have opened their doors to us by seeing what God is doing.

Thankful: This year armed robbers entered our home. I asked for prayer support and the whole J-Life Africa family mobilized to pray for me and my family and also to support us financially. This showed me how I have a big family who cares about us.

Story/Testimony: A pastor started a new church and has been praying for three years for God to send someone to equip them. We have trained him and he says that the Disciplemaking Mobilization programme has been the answer to their three year prayer!

Thankful: We are thankful to God for peaceful elections in Kenya.

Story/Testimony: It has been great to see a number of leaders who we have journeyed with in the past modelling Christ in their lives and ministries. That has been my greatest encouragement this year! It kept me going!

Thankful: Thanking God for opening the door into Lumbumbashi

Story/Testimony: We had a successful training with 36 women representing 5 different churches under the theme "Disciple a woman, Disciple a family"

Thankful: Thankful to the Lord for the way He is enabling us to educate our children amidst such a tight economy.

Story/Testimony: We have been working as a couple to train leaders - we released and commissioned 26 leaders and pastors in November in the Eastern part of Uganda. We have been running a programme for pastors children whom we train with J-Life materials that enable them to run Scripture Union programmes while at school. Miria has had opportunities to share amongst pastors wives, helping them to run ministries at their churches and was also funded to speak at a forum in Accra.

Thankful: We are thankful to God for adding a new member to our family ... Minana Takwira!

Story/Testimony: God opened the door to a new city in Mutare where we are also running a GC2 group. We also managed to start another group in Bulawayo.

J-Life Nigeria

Thankful: We have experienced tremendous care and protection from God. Especially in recent months where there has been a high rate of religious and political persecution and killings.

Story/Testimony: We have our footprint in ten regions and some local communities. Our regional leaders and working hard to reach many souls for Christ. Most of them are at different levels of casting wide, coaching and mentoring.

Thankful: We are thankful that God has intentionally kept us together as a family this year inspite of hard times.

Story/Testimony: God opened the door for me (Zoe) into a seminary this year and is softening hearts of pastors to partner with us in disciplemaking. We are already making plans for training in January 2023 in those churches.
