Thankful for open spaces at Camp Eden during lockdown

Dear Friends

We hope that you are keeping well and safe during these very different and uncertain times!

We thought we would just send out a quick personal/family catch up ....

We are all doing very well.  We made a last minute decision to drive up to Camp Eden for lockdown.  We drove up with Lorna's brother and his wife and family and with Emily (who is new to working full time with J-Life and is from the USA).  We joined some of our J-Life family on the farm as well as John's dad for lockdown and have now been on the farm almost 3 months.

It has been a good time and we have been so blessed with open, safe spaces!  John has been able to work remotely which has been great - his work has not been affected at all (other than battling with internet connection at times)!  It's been a good time of looking at how J-Life can better reach, train, equip and disciple people during Covid.  He has also spent a lot of time in zoom meetings, developing small group material that can be rolled out throughout Africa as well as seeing to things that needed to be done at the campsite.  Lorna has juggled time with doing lots of sorting at the campsite, doing homeschool with Jamie and keeping a big household going.  Jordz has continued with her internship programme with the church - she has been involved in small groups, Sunday school and youth group programmes etc. Nate has been sent school work every day and has enjoyed not needing to be up at the crack of dawn for school!  Jamie has loved the farm - he has done homeschooling (along with his cousin, Myla, who is also in Grade 1) every morning and has loved playing all afternoon!  He and Myla share a birthday ... so we celebrated yesterday (15th of June) with Myla turning 7 and Jamie turning 8.  We have been blessed with lovely weather - starting with kids being able to swim .... and gradually seeing the seasons change .... But it is now definitely winter!!!

We plan on heading home next week - giving Nate and Jamie 2 weeks at home before they are scheduled to start with school again.  We have been very isolated from the Covid crisis in our country and particularly in Cape Town - so are praying that the kids can easily transition to all the rules and regulations necessary.

Thank you for your continued interest in our lives as a family and for your prayer and financial support. We thank the Lord for you and your investment into us, the ministry of J-Life Africa and the Kingdom.

Praying that the Lord continues to keep you safe and use you during these times.

With love, thanks and prayers
John, Lorna, Jordz, Nate & Jamie
Farm fun!
Homeschool - we have survived so far ... but definitely prefer school!!
Easter was fun!
We have celebrated a few birthdays while being on the farm ... Jamie and his cousin, Myla, loved their celebration!
Double trouble .... farm birthdays!!
Lockdown crew - we did lots of walks!
Camp Eden Fun Run (if running 21km is fun ....?)
So much to be thankful for!

Please phone, whatsapp or email us at any time with YOUR prayer requests - we love to keep up with what is happening in your life!

Thank you
again for your generous support in so many ways!

God bless
Sending much love and thanks, John, Lorna, Jordz, Nate & Jamie
