The Benefits of Belonging: Research Awards

Apply by Aug. 8 for  Research Career Development Travel Awards

 
The SVS Foundation has announced a new award opportunity, the Research Career Development Travel Awards, designed to support early-career vascular surgeons with an interest in basic science, translational or clinical research. 
 
Applications are due Aug. 8.
 
In addition to $1,500 in financial support to attend an established research career development course, awardees also will be assigned an SVS research mentor to provide guidance and discuss academic career advancement, including other available resources and opportunities.

Claim Annual Meeting Credits by Dec. 31


Still haven't claimed CME or MOC credits from the Vascular Annual Meeting?

Go online to the link below or access the CME site via the 2016 VAM app. Provide either the registration ID number OR first and last names and the ZIP code used to register either five- or nine-digit code). Follow the extensive directions to list sessions, provide evaluations, take exams and generate credit certificates.

Slide Set on Diabetic Foot Guidelines

To encourage adoption of the recent diabetic foot guideline, SVS has created a new educational slide set for members to use in their presentations. 


Register for October Coding Course

Registration is open for the Coding and Reimbursement Workshop, to be held Oct. 21-22 in Chicago. The workshop addresses the 2016 updates, including changes to endovascular stent placement outside the lower extremity and PQRS, as well as coding for intravascular embolization and retrograde intrathoracic carotid stenting.
 

Register for SVS/UCLA Board Review Course

Registration is open for the "First Annual UCLA/SVS Symposium: A Comprehensive Review and Update of What's New in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery." The course will be Aug. 27 to 29 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., and will offer an in-depth review of our specialty for those preparing to take the vascular board examinations as well as providing the basic didactic education for the vascular residents and fellows in training.

Save the Date for VAM 2017!


Look ahead to next summer, and be sure to save the dates of May 31 to June 3 for the 2017 Vascular Annual Meeting. Plenaries and exhibits will be from June 1 to 3. Next year's meeting will take place at the San Diego Convention Center in sunny San Diego, Calif. Make a note of it!
