Lots more news to get to you before tomorrow's (March 8th) meeting in Cummington.

Petition now collecting signatures!
We now have a petition drafted and available to sign at MoveOn.org. The Massachusetts Petition to Ban New "Fracked Gas" Pipelines and Champion Sustainable Energy, will be sent to Gov. Deval Patrick, the entire Massachusetts State Senate and House and the Secretary for Energy and Environmental Affairs.
Please have a look, and sign this important petition!

People are Meeting and Organizing
The first meeting at Co-op Power, hosted by Climate Action Now! Massachusetts was a tremendous success, connecting many people who are now organizing for action. We hope to continue to work with them and any other groups organizing along the pipeline as a broader state-wide coalition. They plan to have another meeting on March 15, location still to be decided. Check back on our Events page to find our where and what time.
*If you've had a meeting already, make sure to let us know what happened and what your group plans to do next.

Resolutions for Towns
We're hearing from more towns who are adopting non-binding resolutions as a way to take a stand against the pipeline project. While not legally binding they are a way of letting state politicians, the gas company and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) know the wishes of the town, and we highly recommend other towns along the route of the pipeline follow suit. Most others have used Cummington's Resolution as template for their own.

Make Sure Your Voice is Heard
If you haven't yet, CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS to voice your opinion. The gas company has been meeting with them one-on-one, so make sure your voice is heard as well.

Ask for a Public Meeting
with Kinder Morgan in Your Town

We've  heard from one Kinder Morgan rep that the company plans to hold public meetings with town select boards who request an informational meeting. We've contacted Kinder Morgan to find out how they're supposed to request this, but have not heard back yet. When we do, we'll share any details on the front page of the website. Please contact your select board and let them know that you'd like to request that public meeting if they are contacted by Kinder Morgan / Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co.
