Partnership with Elizabethtown College
Last month, we announced a partnership with Dr. Tyminski at Elizabethtown College.  Dr. Tyminski teachers a class on special education that every teaching student must take.  Our goal is to not only give these students hands on experience working with people with developmental delays, but also time with parents to learn and understand our concerns, issues, and praises with the education system.   This will, hopefully, be an ongoing relationship with the potential to touch 25+ soon to be teachers each semester!  Since last month, we've connected students with 5 families to work with, one set of students is developing a music class, another set of students is developing a science class for siblings, and a 3rd set of students is looking to work on a soccer clinic. We are very excited with how well this is going and how excited the students are to be working with our families!

Training for Lancaster's First Responders!
LDSA and Excentia are hard at work wtih the First Responder Training facility to finalize a training session for First Responders on interacting in our community with people with intellectual delays and disabilities.  The training will be taking place March 25th and will be open to all first responders in Lancaster County!  This will be an ongoing training.

Be a Dadvocate!
Are you a Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, Brother, etc. to a child with a disability and feel like you want be more involved in advocating for your loved one? Sports Clinics!
The sports clinics have been a huge success so far, but we would love to have more families take advantage of this offer!  The cost is just $10/4 week session/family!  In order to keep working with Coach Rossi, we need to take a break from the soccer clinic until May, but the gymnastics clinic will be continuing.  The next session starts March 7th!  You can sign up on our website or emailsports@lancasterdsa.org for more information.

We are looking to setup dance, swimming, and/or karate clinics soon as well.  Look for more information on our website and facebook page!
