Under 5s Home Learning Bags

Starting this September, we will be featuring our new “Home Learning Bags” in our Stay and Plays. Once a month, a choice of three bags will be available to families with children. Each bag will contain an activity for children to do at home with their grown up.

The activities use every day items, and we hope that parents and children will learn to love learning, and have some fun together at home. Parents are a child’s first teachers, and have so much to share. Our first three bags are Making Puppets, Chalk Play, and Carrier Bag Kites. All bags are free of charge, and we welcome feedback to put up on our Home Learning board.

Meet the Team...

Hi, I’m Shelley and I have been the Family Support Worker for the past 2 years at Yiewsley Cornerstone Centre

It is my role to support our local families with children as they work though the needs life brings.
I can provide support in parenting skills, routines, finding childcare, signposting you to the right places or i can just be there to offer a cup of tea and a shoulder to cry on.

I have supported a vast range of families from different backgrounds over the past 5 years and have a diverse knowledge from working at different Children’s Centres during my career. The experience of complex circumstances is not new to me but I continue to keep in the loop through regular updates and training so even if I cannot help you, I can point you in the right direction.

I am married and have a 12 year old daughter, who thinks she is 21 already! Nevertheless, I still enjoy socialising with my friends, family and like being by the seaside...whatever the weather.
