Happy New Year from the Village Hall Management Team!

So, what improvements can we expect to see with the Village Hall in 2020?

Building on the success of last year, where we have seen improvements to the Village Hall’s exterior lighting, to the snooker room and to storage areas both in the Hall and upstairs, our priority for 2020 is to finalise the plan for refurbishing the Village Hall kitchen and to implement the improvements this Spring.

Clearly, this will be the largest expense we plan to make this year and is only possible due to the team’s success in achieving external grants and fundraising. However, we also plan to clean and re-seal the hall floor and, if finances allow, we would like the hall repainted.

Plans to improve the Community Lounge, heating system and back store are at the moment, for the future.

I am delighted to say, we have co-opted two new members to the management team, David Fraser and Claire Sharpe, who I am sure will greatly enhance our effectiveness.

Best wishes for 2020!

A Little Bite of the Big Apple, Saturday February 8th

It’s the 1920’s and an ambitious group of chorus girls are looking forward to a big break that will see them close the season at The Big Apple. They all have dreams of stateside stardom but it seems that their star singer ‘Lola La Pip’ may have sold them up the river…

Join us for a short show and refreshments on Saturday 8th February 6.30pm at Whixley Village Hall with a new bespoke play by Kate Bramley performed by the Badapple Youth Theatre. Directed by Sue Rosser.

All seats £6 (includes show and refreshments) and under 5’s are free. Tickets from www.badappletheatre.com
