Carla Beauvais is a columnist and social entrepreneur with an extensive following in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. Like the rest of the world, the murder of George Floyd profoundly affected her and she chose to use her platform to speak out about racial injustice in Canada, as well as promote a mobile phone app that she co-created that highlighted Black businesses in her community. What she thought would have been a well-received message on social media, ended up making her the victim of vile, racist threats and insults online.
Carla's story is the latest video installment in a social media campaign created by CRRF and YWCA Canada with the generous support of Toyota Canada. A video detailing her experience is now available on all of CRRF's social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube). We invite you to like and share the social media posts on your social media accounts.
