Invitation to Arctic Dialogue Meeting

Arctic Consensus invites you to a seminar on
"2019-2024: which Arctic agenda for the EU?"

While the current Finnish EU Presidency has set the Arctic high on the EU agenda, doubts remain on the level of importance that the new European Commission will give to the Arctic. The recent months have however demonstrated the increased importance of the Arctic, and in particular Greenland, on the global arena.

This Arctic Dialogue Meeting will bring the discussion into the next five years of the EU-Arctic agenda.

Join us for a discussion with MEP Urmas Paet, MP Aaja Chemnitz Larsen, Member of the Danish Parliament, elected in Greenland, who will talk about: The Arctic is Changing – What’s Next?”, Ambassador Jari Vilén from the European Commission, who will highlight the recommendations from the strategic note “Walking on Thin Ice: A Balanced Arctic Strategy for the EU” that the European Political Strategy Centre published last July, and Ambassador Lars Bo Larsen from Denmark’s Permanent Representation to the EU, who will talk about the Arctic.

This event will be held in English.

Please join us:

Thursday, December 12th,
from 10.00 - 12.00, followed by a networking reception,
at the North Denmark EU Office,
Avenue de Tervueren 35, 1040 Brussels (Metro: Merode).
