IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING THIS WEEKEND'S RETREAT.  PLEASE READ. View this email in your browser
Dear Friend,

This is to confirm your reservation for the Metivta Retreat led by Daniel Matt, scheduled for June 14 - 16 at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center in Encino, California. On Friday, we will be available from 4:00pm – 6:00pm to check you in and complete your registration. Check-In will take place in the main Retreat Building near the restrooms.

Dinner will be served from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Friday, where we’ll light Shabbat candles, have a Kabbalat Shabbat, Kiddush and Motzi.

If you are delayed on Friday, please contact Miri Koral on her cell phone (310) 920-5041 or Perry Oretzky at (310) 293-0485. We will make every effort to accommodate you while ensuring that your lateness will not disturb the other participants.

Parking is limited near the main buildings.  If it’s full when you arrive, keep driving until you come to a field that has ample parking space.

A detailed program schedule will be handed out at time of registration. The retreat program will end by noon on Sunday.  You must be packed and out of your rooms on Sunday morning by 9 AM.

The Holy Spirit Retreat Center is located in the foothills of Encino. The grounds are beautiful and have paths for walking. Joggers will need to use streets in the neighborhood.

Regarding telephones: While this isn’t a silent retreat, please silence or turn off your cell phones and use them for emergency use only. Cell reception at Holy Spirit is spotty.

Wi-Fi is available at Holy Spirit. It’s on the “Guests” network.  Password:  guest123.

Some participants may choose to be silent during the retreat.  They will have a blue dot on their name tag.  Please respect their silence.

The weather forecast for this weekend is mild with highs in the mid-70s and lows in the 60s, so pack accordingly.

Your sleeping room and all meeting rooms have AC and heating. You will receive your room assignment when you check-in.

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. We’re not very formal on retreats, although many participants dress up for Shabbat dinner on Friday evening. Don’t forget an alarm (phone or clock) for early morning meditation.

All meals and snacks will be provided. Meals will be primarily vegetarian with some fish and dairy. If you have any allergies or special dietary needs, please let us know immediately upon receipt of this letter so that we can make arrangements prior to the retreat.

Teaching materials will be provided upon check-in, and you may wish to bring a small tote bag. If you wish to daven at any time, please bring your own siddur. Chairs will be available for those of you who use them for meditating, and you may also wish to bring a cushion, zafu, and/or mat. Bedding, linens, and towels will be provided.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call Miri Koral this week at (310) 745-1170 between the hours of 9:00AM and 6:00PM PST. We look forward to your participation in the retreat.

B’Shalom,
