For those who attended last year's Metivta retreat with Daniel Matt, this year's retreat focuses on new material and offers a further deepening.  For anyone new to learning with this prestigious scholar and teacher, it will be an opening to the intellectual, poetical, and soulful aspects of Jewish mystical thought. 

And for everyone, it's an opportunity to bring Jewish mystical practice and insights into our everyday lives in a meaningful and profound way.

Daniel Matt is one of the world’s leading authorities on Kabbalah and the Zohar. He has been featured in Time and Newsweek and has appeared on National Public Radio and the History Channel. His over a dozen books include The Essential Kabbalah (translated into seven languages), Zohar: Annotated and Explained, and God and the Big Bang: Discovering Harmony between Science and Spirituality(revised edition, 2016). His award-winning translation of the Zohar took 18 years to complete and has been hailed “a monumental contribution to the history of Jewish thought.”

 A much beloved speaker and teacher internationally, Daniel Matt for 20 years also served as professor at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He makes his home in Berkeley, Ca.
