Since completing the most comprehensively annotated multi-volume English translation of the Zohar, Matt is devoted to unpacking the teachings of mystical Judaism to an international following.
In this retreat we'll learn how to bring these understandings and practices into our routine lives as well as how these might relate to other spiritual traditions. Daniel Mattis one of the world’s leading authorities on Kabbalah and the Zohar. He has been featured in Time and Newsweek and has appeared on National Public Radio and the History Channel. His over a dozen books include The Essential Kabbalah (translated into seven languages), Zohar: Annotated and Explained, and God and the Big Bang: Discovering Harmony between Science and Spirituality(revised edition, 2016). His award-winning translation of the Zohar took 18 years to complete and has been hailed “a monumental contribution to the history of Jewish thought.”
A much beloved speaker and teacher internationally, Daniel Matt for 20 years also served as professor at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. He makes his home in Berkeley, Ca.
