Learn how to place your performance where the camera can truly appreciate it.

This 2-part course is a must for any actor who submits video auditions! In this two-part course, John will introduce his Acting for the Camera Technique (The Magic Rectangle) in addition to his signature Active Question Technique that will completely change the way you approach your next audition.

During our first half, John will introduce his Magic Rectangle Technique and ask students to apply those principles in an actual scene.  Students will work in front of the camera and also deliver dialogue off-camera to better understand how eye-lines are essential to creating believable scenarios for the audience.
Students will then move from the technical aspects of film acting and into their character’s psyche and their good and bad memories, their hopes, dreams, fears, needs and desires.  Students will learn about the emotional quadrants surrounding the lens and apply authentic human processing to their character make up.
Finally, John will dive into “the white of the page” and will teach the secrets that movie actors use everyday to captivate their audience.  This course will provide tangible tools that every actor can use to immediately improve all of their auditions and, especially, those for the camera.
Each workshop is limited to the first paid in full registrants only. Your registration is not complete and space not guaranteed until the workshop is paid in full. Walk in students will be accepted subject to space availability only.
