Hi Everyone,
Since opening Orange Computer in 2009, I've repaired, upgraded and sold a lot of laptops. I've talked with a lot of people about what they are looking for in a laptop, what they are happy with and what they don't like.
I've learned that there's not just one laptop model or type that will fit everyone.
I do see patterns and trends, though. This particular laptop model that I'm writing about today may well be a good fit for over half of people who make up my customer base.
It's a refurbished HP ProBook 650 G1.
The model name on it's own doesn't mean much, it's the specs that matter and why they may be a good fit for you or someone you know.
This laptop has a 15.6 inch screen, so is not as easy to carry around as a 14 inch or smaller laptop. Which is fine if you plan to mostly use your laptop at home. Many people like a bit larger screen to more easily see.
It also has a number keypad, which can make it easier to do business data entry. This feature is a request that I often hear.
The HP ProBook 650 G1 has a CD/DVD optical drive, which most people don't use but is sometimes good to have. Some people are definitely wanting a laptop with a DVD drive to be able to view older data that they've saved to disc in the past.
It has five USB 3.0 ports, so plenty of connections to attach an external mouse, keyboard, extra storage, et cetera.
For video output, it has a classic VGA port and a business class DisplayPort (which can be converted to HDMI with an adapter).
For business type features, it has a docking station port and even a serial port for legacy or retro external devices.
I have some of these in stock with Intel i5 processors, 8GB memory (RAM, upgrade-able to 16GB) and 256GB Solid State Drives (SSDs). Operating System options are Windows 10 Home (default), Windows 10 Pro and Linux.
Base price is $300 +tax
If you, or someone you know, is looking to get a laptop. This may be a good fit. I'd be happy to talk with you more and ask questions about how you plan to use the computer to help you decide if it would be a good model for you or not. Feel free to reply to this email or give me a phone call.
