Help #sustainhope by supporting the Guelph Community Backpack Project
Guelph Community Backpack Project
"Every child needs a backpack, and every backpack needs a child."
Whether kids are learning at school, at home or a combination of both this fall, the Guelph Community Backpack Project will provide vital school supplies to support kids in the community, so they can begin the school year right.
Each year, HOPE House, in cooperation with the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, provides a full stocked backpack to children in need. This year there have been close to 1,300 kids register to receive a backpack.
We need your financial support to ensure that all 1,300 kids receives the essential school supplies they need.
We know that one of the best poverty fighting tools is a full education – one free of disparities and inequalities. Research, however, has demonstrated that children and youth living in poverty tend to have poorer education results compared to their wealthier peers. These discrepancies are not due to the lack of ability to perform, but are rather the outcome of not having the necessary resources in order to be confident and successful in their academic journeys.

Today’s youth are the future of our country – this is why when one person see’s a need for change, it is so imperative to embrace and encourage that thirst for change.
One individual who has that thirst, is Mahek.
What started as an observation, and recognition for change in our society and the perception of those who are afflicted by poverty, turned into an action plan. Mahek recently started and completed a GoFundMe page on behalf of HOPE House and raised $2500!
