Making Friends With Stillness

My loves, these are uncomfortable times we live in. When things get tense, it can be tempting to fill up every available empty space with an activity here, and obligation there, to the point where we find ourselves constantly running from morning to night. Those feelings, those still small voices waiting to be heard, nag at the backs of our minds. Now, during the Silent Moon, is a potent time to create some space for silence. One might think of this Sacred Pause as a period at the end of a sentence, followed by a large blank space before the next paragraph begins. It's tempting to fill that space with something. A moment of play or dance can be a beautiful palate cleanser, but then it is essential to create space for that stillness. Yes, it's uncomfortable. At first, the still small voice within the silence can sound deafening. There, in that liminal space, we're asked to just be present for the feelings that come up. Ooh, there's fear there. Maybe a bit of anger. Maybe sadness. Let these uncomfortable feelings be felt. Let the small voice within you be heard. Underneath it all is love. Underneath it all is you. And underneath it all is the strength to do the Work. Blessed Be.

Celebrate the Full Moon in Leo with the Witches of Transgression

Friday, February 10 is the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Leo, a time to integrate the aspects of ourselves we allow to shine with the aspects we keep hidden in the shadows, finding the strength in expressing our whole and undivided selves as we unite with one another to co-create a world of acceptance, empowerment, and unity in diversity.

On Friday evening, or during the week, I invite you to join or support the Divine Spiraling Rainbow Tribe in our Full Moon working for 2017, Witches of Transgression.
In CAYA, we are celebrating the Silent Moon - How can we find silent time to restore and regenerate our enthusiasm for our lives/work/relationships?

Guidance and Inspiration From the Angelic Realm Oracle Deck

It's way too easy for us to fall into bomb shelter mode, gluing ourselves to our computers and smartphones at all waking hours, waiting with trepidation for what other horrors will hit our newsfeed. That, my loves, is a one-way ticket to burnout! Our first oracle card of the day sees that scared little child in you. One of the best ways to parent yourself is to allow yourself to play. Really, it's OK! It could be your favorite card game, laughing with friends, going on a spontaneous adventure, or engaging in a rousing game of tag with your kids...or someone else's! Play nourishes us and allows our brains to think in another way. Perhaps the solution to a long mulled over problem will present itself after you've had a break...and some levity!

Our second card goes nicely with the first. Sometimes one of the best sanity breaks you can do, in the immortal words of David Bowie, is to put on your red shoes and dance the blues! Go ahead and crank up the music and dance your heart out! You don't have to be a pro, and it doesn't matter what it looks like. Let your body express what it needs to express. Sing along if you like! Spontaneous outbursts of exuberance are guaranteed to recharge your day. These days, we can all use a joy injection.

“As we practice meditation, we get used to stillness and eventually are able to make friends with the quietness of our sensations.”
