People are craving connection after these past two years. If you’re stuck on what to get your loved ones, focus on experiences and connections instead of things. Arrange a cozy get-together at home, decorate with your loved ones, or plan a trip somewhere new (or old!).
That’s just what Meagan and I did when we took some quick getaways to Hermann, MO (Meagan) and Michigan (me). You can read more about those adventures on our blog.
If travel is inspiring you to crave new surroundings, get in touch! We’d love to discuss what you are envisioning!

Elegantly livable
Being present isn’t just a state of being – it’s a state of place. This striking but livable design tapped into our belief that your surroundings help you be present and remain grounded. A calming, neutral palette creates a feeling of serene sanctuary, and handspun textures and understated nature-inspired prints and details provide visual interest while also lending a sense of airy expansiveness. Metallic accents and high-luster finishes catch and amplify natural light, elevating every moment of the day. Elegantly livable, this contemporary home is undeniably a place to retreat and re-center.

The Scout Guide is a nationwide publication connecting people with local businesses, makers and creatives through collectable handbooks that spotlight need-to-know local businesses. We were honored to be invited into the St. Louis Scout Guide family for the second year– and to glam up in a gorgeous space (that we just so happened to design)! You can also read our exclusive tips for mentally refreshing your home on their website here!

Nothing cleanses the creative palate like travel! Meagan took a quick jaunt to Hermann, MO, where she stayed at the Garden Cottage of the Schiller House, sipped coffee at Stompn Grounds, noshed on Reubens at Herman Hof, and tasted SoCal vino at Three California Vineyards Tasting Room. Meanwhile, April went north to Detroit for her annual family pilgrimage, where she was inspired by the Motor City’s street art, browsed local produce and meats at Papa Joe’s and Westborn Markets, toasted with a Bright White Ale from Bell’s Brewery, nibbled on a Sander’s Bumpy Cake (see below), then shopped up a storm at retro home decor and gift store Leon and Lulu in Royal Oak.

April’s on Main is big on style and even bigger on inspiration. Carrying an extensive selection of home decor and gift items from a hand-selected roster of local makers and designers, April’s is our go-to destination for those special pieces that turn heads and transform spaces. In addition to stocking an unrivaled variety of one-of-a-kind new and vintage items, April and her team can assist with accessorizing, refinishing, re-upholstery and seasonal displays – so you can transform your home into a place that is uniquely, undeniably yours. I even use April to glam up my home for the holidays!
