National Museum of Australia
Teaching, Learning and Belonging in the Multilingual Classroom
Explore the rich resources of the National Museum of Australia in Canberra!
This professional learning program has been especially designed for teachers of English as an additional language or dialect to Indigenous, migrant and refugee background students in school and adult classrooms.
Museum educators will explore a variety of resources including the Australia’s Defining Moments Digital Classroom, and present a range of pedagogies, objects, narratives, and images that can assist your EAL/D students to develop their linguistic and semiotic capacities. These pedagogies and resources will also enhance students’ understanding of Australian history and social life by engaging with the stories and contributions of First Nation’s peoples and Australia’s past and present migrant settlers.
