Welcome to the April 2022 edition of the Hills Shire Library enewsletter.
All regular groups and activities are back! Check the library What's On Calendar for dates and times. There is plenty happening over the coming months including the Great Library Whodunit, an author talk with Deb Oswald, The Year One Reading Club, writing workshops and more!

THE YEAR ONE READING CLUB IS BACK!

The Year One Reading Club is back for 2022! Children attending school in year one this year are invited to join the club. The Year One Reading Club is designed to help students improve their reading skills and develop their imaginations through literature.  Children will receive a logbook when they join, then a sticker each time they visit their local library to borrow.  By making regular visits to the library, reading becomes an enjoyable habit for children and helps build on the literacy skills developed in kindergarten.  After receiving two stickers, club members begin to collect rewards!
Year One Reading Club is on now, through October 31.
MORE INFORMATION

Oh no! The librarians have lost their favourite book. It is your job to discover who lost the book, when and where they lost it.  Pick up your Case File from your local branch then visit the library each week during the month of April as more clues are revealed.   By process of elimination, you will find out which suspect was responsible for losing the book, when it went missing and in which library location. If you happen to miss a clue, check back on the library website. We’ll be posting the clues weekly to help you along the way.  Submit an accusation card at any Hills Shire Library branch by close of business Sunday 8 May to receive your detective licence!
