Welcome to the October 2022 edition of the Hills Shire Library Service

HSC students will get some extra time to study at Study on Sundays, children can write with bestselling author Yvette Poshoglian.  Book in for an author talk on Mindfulness and hear bestselling author Belinda Alexandra discuss her new novel. Plan ahead and find out more about Wills and Power of Attorney. Children can get in the mood for Halloween with our super fun Spooky Storytimes. Due to high demand, we are also starting a new session of Baby Bounce at Castle Hill Library as well as bringing back our popular Storytime and Baby Bounce at Box Hill!

WAY BACK WEDNESDAY

Did you know the Hills Shire once had a working tram line?  Seen here in 1910 is the steam tram that serviced the Hills district, transporting both passengers and local fruit crops to market.  The tram line opened in 1902 and tickets cost 1 penny per section of travel.

YEAR ONE READING CLUB

The Year One Reading Club ends on Monday the 31st October! 
The club is designed to help students improve their reading skills and develop their imaginations through literature. Children still have plenty of time to receive their stickers and rewards. By making regular visits to the library, reading becomes an enjoyable habit for children and helps build on the literacy skills developed in kindergarten.
