Learn more about EAC Memberships!
A note from my highchair... Recovery is in the air and it smells like Alano Club coffee.

Well, that was unexpected...  The cancellation of this year’s 12th Anniversary Banquet in May came after several things happened that led us to this unfortunate decision...  Date changes, venue changes, conflicting retreat scheduled and most destructive of all, the lack of interest.

There are still opportunities to come and Celebrate EAC's 12th year! We will be having a July 4th cook-out & fireworks for the 3rd year in a row at the club.  The 50/50 Raffle that was to be held at the banquet will be held and drawn at that time. We will also be awarding the “Volunteer of the Year” award to on July 4th - come out and join us!

About those Annual Events... Maybe it is time to rethink the idea of having a yearly banquet.  It seems that money was tight, and a $25 dinner is no longer appetizing to most of the people I have talked to around the tables.

Maybe we should focus on low cost, fun events at the club.  Poker night was well received, and Bingo night was fun for all who came.  Look for more of these types of events in the future.  The Isaac Walton League has an archery range that rents equipment.  I am going to check and see if we can get a group rate for the EAC Merry Men and Women.

Any ideas for fun club activities and/or events are welcome!  We do have a suggestion box that remains empty.  In the meantime, we want to thank all of you for your continued support.  As we go into our next membership year, it is my hope that more members will get involved.
You may notice a cleaner look with the new blacktop, buried downspouts, and moving of the dumpster.  It should be easier to keep clean.

Housekeeping: Somewhere along the Road of Happy Destiny we have picked up a few litterbugs.  Let’s keep it clean by not leaving butts on the ground.  This has been a common problem at several the other AA venues.  I myself have heard this announcement at two churches that host AA meetings.

Membership: As a reward to those of you who renew your membership before the July 4th Key Exchange, you will save $10.  Yes, $60 instead of the regular $70 if you act fast and renew online or in-person before the cook-out!  We hope to see you there.

Love and Service.

"Recovery is something like the restoration of a very old painting, covered over by layers and layers of darkening, distorted varnish ... Not all of the underlying pattern can be revealed at one time. What is uncovered, bit by bit and layer by slow, careful layer, are the things which are necessary and appropriate for me to know about myself right now."

"An Indescribable Benevolence," Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, August 1992 Step By Step
