A note from my highchair... Recovery is in the air and it smells like Alano Club coffee.

As we approach the New Year, in this season of giving, I am again in awe of the efforts by some in our recovery community.  For example, when the NiteCap group has been struggling to remain solvent and not reduce meetings from their weekly lineup, another group has reached out to help them!  What a positive example that our meeting groups are not in competition.  We all have a primary purpose; to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.

This is a good example of the First Tradition.  As our country seems so far apart on so many issues, we need to put all our differences away and focus on how we can help each other. No where is that more important than in the rooms.

If you haven’t been to the best 10 PM meeting around lately, I suggest you stop by soon.  The Nitecap has gone back to a more relaxed 10/11 format that had worked so well at the start of the group...Six nights a week you will find a meeting at the club to cap off your night.

Love and Service.

Weekly Meeting Schedule
"Recovery is something like the restoration of a very old painting, covered over by layers and layers of darkening, distorted varnish ... Not all of the underlying pattern can be revealed at one time. What is uncovered, bit by bit and layer by slow, careful layer, are the things which are necessary and appropriate for me to know about myself right now."

"An Indescribable Benevolence," Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, August 1992 Step By Step
