We've had lots of new enrollments this month so it has been a busy time settling in all our new students.
In math we have been practicing our counting skills and learning to count sets of objects.  We've been matching numbers together and playing games using this skill.  Our older children have been learning to write the number name in English and many have mastered nos 1-5 already.
A big thanks to Miss Suzi and Miss Emma who come to teach our children twice a week to teach English and Maths.   We are so thankful for the love and care they give to our children.
We've been learning how God created the world by the power of His Word and we've making lots of fun crafts to remember this story.  We also learned how God made man and woman and the reason we are so special to God.
It's hard to believe 10 weeks have gone by already as we said goodbye to Play around the world team.  We have leaned lots of new English words, games and skills through play activity.  We look forward to another team next year.
This month the Hell's Angels motor bike club hosted a fun day of activities for our kids at the Ponderosa resort.  There was free food, drinks and gifts for everyone and our children had a wonderful day.   Families could swim together, play together and laugh together in a beautiful environment.   A huge thanks to our Hell's Angels buddies.
Our children had the opportunity to taste their first crumpets due to the generous donation from Smithfield's.  A big thanks to Brian and Gayle who helped each child toast and spread their crumpet with butter and jam.  The vote was unanimously "yummy".
A big thanks to Dr. Umana from the Hands of Hope Foundation who donated hundreds of reading glasses for the people in the local slum  areas.  The people who received the glasses appreciate that they can now see clearly.
A big thanks to our Norwegian Mini golf friends who continue to faithfully take us shopping every week for the food we need.   Every week we spend 10,000 baht on essential items which help feed our pre schoolers, kids club and slum families.
A big thanks to everyone who came from the Hand of Hope Foundation to love and support our kids this month.  The children were delighted to spend the morning at the Joymax play cafe swinging, jumping and playing in the massive ball pit.  The day was extra special by all team members who played with our children and giving them special attention.  After working up an appetite we scrumdiddlyumptious lunch before heading home.
When the Hands of Hope team were with us we were able to give free medical check-ups for people in the slum community.  A big thanks to Dr. Jeff and Elizabeth who took care of the patients and left us with more medicines and bandages so we could continue to take care of the sick.
The house at our Nong Yai site were completed earlier this year and we currently have 9 families living in these 7 houses.  The last step was to give them a coat of paint and we are thankful to the Hands of Hope team who not only purchased the paint but did the work also.   We are looking good with a green and purple exterior and a soft blue on the inside.
Our staff and leaders from the different slum communities have attended a 3 day training hosted by the government to learn how to make and repair shoes.   The learning of this skill provides opportunities for people from the slum to set up their own shoe repair booths giving them employment.  For our Hand to Hand staff we now have the skills to repair the shoes which come in from donations so more of our donated shoes can find new owners.
Our friends from the Community of Faith Church Illinois came to visit us and we took this opportunity to have a combined service for all Community of Faith churches in Pattaya. We had fun together, we prayed and worshiped and also shared a meal at the end.
This month we are services have been hindered by heavy rain.  This has been a blessing in disguise as we have taken the church door to door praying for people in the houses.  As a result of this we have added new members to our church.
The leaders of this church are growing in strength each week and the members are rising up to join the worship team and lead the prayers.  This is a blessing to minister to and with every week.
With the leader of Community of Faith Churches Pastor Troy we took the opportunity to baptise about 20 people at Jomtien beach. These people have been attending our churches regularly and wanted to show their commitment to following Jesus. The Thai pastors began training other committed leaders in the church how to baptise followers.
The children from our kids club have helped us to plant cuttings taken from our new land.  This process involves sending them out to dig up and bag fertile soil which they then used to fill the garden bed.  The students enjoy helping with this project and learned new skills at the same time.
We've been learning how God made the world by the power of His Words and we've made lots of animal crafts to help remember how amazing God's creation is.  We also learned how God created man and woman and how He breathed life into them making them more special than all other creation.
It's been a busy time in the slums this month with the rain creating many needs for families.  We've been blessed by the numerous teams who have come to help and a big thanks to Brian for creating an organised system for packaging  slum supplies. Thank you Michelle for all your love and support this month too. You are a ray of sunshine and hope!
Margi was invited to become a Rotarian and this month she became a member of the Rotary club of Pattaya.  We are excited to be a part of Rotary worldwide as we partner together in projects.
If you live in the Pattaya area and thinking of becoming a Rotarian please contact us and we'll fill you in on the process.
We're thankful for all the donations which came in this month for our appeal and we welcome donations of any of these items all year round.  As we have almost  run our of pampers and milk formula these will be on our appeal for the month of August.
A huge thanks to the Surecell company  who have provided free treatment for Khun Mon and Gayle.  Khun Mon has been experiencing pain in her knee joints for many years.  This pain has stopped her from doing everyday activities which has made climbing stairs difficult and on bad days impossible.  After PRP ( Platelet rich Plasma) treatment she is now able to climb stairs daily and is able to play with the children pain free.  This has improved her personal life and also her ability to perform tasks at work.
Gayle has suffered from chronic arthritis  for many years which has left her in debilitating pain and relying on drugs so she can perform everyday tasks.  Since having 2 months of PRP treatment and physical therapy she has regained pain free mobility and no longer needs medication.  For more information on Surecell please go to the following website;
