HAND TO HAND VILLAGE!!!!!!
We are approaching the deadline to acquire all the funds needed to purchase the land and begin building homes for poor families living in the slums. So far we have raised 5, 903, 485 baht or $182 480 US and we need another 596, 515 baht or $18, 640 US to purchase the land. Premier Oil and Gas company will build 4 of the homes for free but we still need 400, 000 baht or $12, 500 US to build the other 4 homes. So in total we need another 996, 515 baht or $31, 140 US by the end of the month. At the completion of the entire project there will be accommodation and job training for 48 families where children can grow up in their community. Our target population group are families who often feel so desperate that they place their child in an orphanage in the hope of a better life. Any donation big or small will help us help these families.

   PRE SCHOOL
The older children have been very busy learning the English alphabet with Miss Suzi, Miss Kelly and Miss Emma. After making crafts to learn the shape of the letter they have been practicing writing them in their note pads too. The students can now read many flash cards and are beginning to be able to write words in English independently. The students can write numbers to 20 and some have mastered all the numbers to 100!!!

The students can read many words in Thai and identify their first name and surnames. Writing Thai letters can be tricky but as the students practice daily their accuracy has improved a lot!!!

The younger students have been learning the numbers to 10 and practiced writing these numbers in their books as well as on the chalkboard. The students have been learning about day and night and they are making some great displays of their work to help remember these concepts.

Our bible focus has been on learning about how Jesus is our shepherd and we are his sheep, able to hear his voice and follow in his ways. Thanks Miss Irene for coming to help us with our crafts and for preparing the things we need for the next week too!

Friday mornings are filled with fun and energy as we do zumba classes with Miss Sheila, learning how to move and control our bodies.

We are sad to say Khun Tam has left our team because he must travel over an hour each way.. every day. We will miss him and pray that God continues to bless him!!!
SIGN LANGUAGE
We have 2 deaf children in our community and they have no way to communicate, so we have begun to teach all of our children and staff how to use Thai sign language. On a Saturday we go into the slum community where these children live and teach signing there too. It is like a whole new world has opened up to these children who can now begin to communicate with those around them. Thank you Kruu Ta for being our expert teacher!!!
KIDS CLUB

We have been learning about how Jesus is the shepherd and we are the sheep. He will protect us and guide us.. all we have to do is listen to His voice. The older children have been taking turns to read the word of God to the younger children which has been a great success.

So thankful for the mums and grandmas who come to cook, clean and prepare materials every Saturday!

MOTHER'S DAY!
The 12th of August was mother's day in Thailand and we celebrated with our families and friends from the local villages that we support. We expected 150 people and were amazed when almost 300 people attended. A huge thanks to Harry's and Fraser's restaurants who prepared an amazing amount of food. Kevin's dad cooked up spaghetti and a special friend ordered an ice cream truck to give out continuous ice cream!!

The event began with crafts where children could make a flower, card or decorate a cookie for their mums. It was so special to see some mums sit with their child and make it together.

There was worship and prayer and also a special time to reflect and thank the queen of Thailand for all that she has done to help the people.

It was such a blessing to have the Iris team with us, working tirelessly before during and after the event!!!

Our friend Joel made a great video of the day but I don't know how to put it in the newsletter... sorry. You can check it out on our face book page... Hand to Hand Foundation.
NORWEGIAN MINI GOLF  FRIENDS

Thanks to all of our Norwegian Mini Golf friends who help us shop each week!!! These guys and gals not only pay for the food but they help us lift and carry it too!!!

Many hands make light work and there are always lots of little volunteers to help unload.

PLAYDERSTUNDE
Thanks to all of their ladies from the Playderstunde German ladies club for their generous donation towards supplies for our pre school.
GOH PAI CHURCH
This month we had a very special memorial service to remember Chris Hill who served amongst the poor in Pattaya for over 10 years. In April he passed away from a chronic lung condition and he will be sadly missed. We had an evening to celebrate his life and as an offering, we made paper flowers which we then placed in pots as we gave thanks for all he had done to help those in need. Many of those he helped came from far and wide to remember him.

We continue to worship every Tuesday with the help of the El Shaddai family band and we are so thankful for their sacrifice to come each week. There are always times to have fun, read the word, worship and receive prayer.

KHAO TALO CHURCH

It has been great to see new people from the village coming to this church on a Saturday afternoon. We have been studying the gospel of John and learning more about who Jesus is and ways that we can follow Him. Our focus for the past few weeks has been on Jesus is the shepherd and we are His precious sheep whom He loves and cares for.

Our scholarship students continue to lead worship and they have introduced some new songs which everybody enjoys. Lots of fun and laughter with tons of God's love too!!!

ANTI BULLYING CAMPAIGN
Margie was invited to make an anit bullying presentation to the high school students at the Rayong Englsih Program School (REPS). The students were very attentive and there was lots of times for them to discuss and feedback on issues related to bullying. By the end of the workshop, the students were able to identify types of bullying and knew what to do if they were a victim or as a bystander.

The students generously collected 2 pick up truck loads of new and used items for the Hand to Hand Foundation!
PRISON MINISTRY

Mark and Sheila have joined our prison ministry team on Monday's and Lisa helps Khun May on Thursdays. We are so thankful to all of you for helping to love and serve the least of these. This month we have seen many inmates come to the Lord and it such a blessing. This month we were able to witness the Lord speak to a mentally insane man who was uncontrollable by the police. Doctors were on standby with a sedative injection, but after prayer he simply walked down the stairs and obeyed police orders!!! What a mighty God we serve!
