MARCH. 2017

At pre school this month we've been learning about eating healthy and how to keep our bodies safe. We've learned the importance of washing our hands and cleaning our teeth so we can stay helathy.  We have had fun developing our fine motor skills by making fruit loop necklaces which were also yummy to eat.  We were blessed by sponsors who bought us ice cream, fresh fruit and vegetables and we were able to turn these donations into a learning experience sorting the items into piles of what we should eat most of and least of.  We've been learning about the Psalms and how God's Name is Holy.  We decorated a special box which we can use at home for our words and pictures we draw and write to God.
Our older children have been preparing to enter grade 1 in May and many of the students have already been to school orientation.  All the students were  happy and confident to meet their new teacher and are looking forward to starting "big" school.
Our friends from ISE school came to spend the day with us and we had lots of fun playing and learning together.  The activities included painting, playing indoors and outdoors, reading and making crafts.  The students from ISE read the story of the very hungry caterpillar and we made pictures of all the things he ate.  After lunch there was time to play with lego together before our friends had to return to ISE school.  We are thankful for  the 606 cartons of milk they donated.
A huge thank you to Bambi who invited us to the Joy Max playland for a play date  where we had lots of fun in the ball pit, climbing frames and tunnels. We were able to enjoy a yummy buffet lunch before returning to the centre.  One of the comments of the day was a child who stood at the buffet and said "Wow so much food".  Thanks to all the Bambi members who donated milk which we took home with us.
Thanks to our Norwegian mini golf friends for another months supply of food and goodies for the children at the centre.  These guys are so faithful to make sure we have what we need.
The Government from Pattaya City Hall is trying to build bridges with those living in the slums  to ensure everyone is educated about the new laws after joining the Asean community.  Many of these laws involve the protection of women and children and creating partnerships with leaders in the slums assist with the implementation of them.  Hand to Hand recommended people from different slum areas all over Pattaya who attended the meeting, not only to learn but also brain storm ways in which problems can be overcome.  For many of those who attended this was a big step as they cannot read and write but felt empowered by being given the opportunity to be positive contributors of their communities.
The school year has ended for our scholarship students and they are all excited about being on holidays.   Sponsors of students have been sent updates of their child and if you have not received yours please contact us at  If you would like to sponsor a child for the upcoming year please contact us.
The Hand to Hand staff has been busy assessing each child's needs to ensure those who need the most help are receiving assistance.  We were sad to say goodbye to a family we have been supporting for 7 years, but it is with joy we know they will be prosperous in their new home in Isaan.
We are very thankful to Bosch who donated 20 boxes of brand new lego to Hand to Hand.  Children in the pre school and kid's club have had lots of fun making things both individually and in groups.  These blocks are a great teaching tool as they encourage students to think and problem solve and work collaboratively together.

Our March milk appeal was very successful as we acheived more than our target goal.  Thanks to everone who gave as we received almost 2,500 boxes of milk.
In April we are collecting stationery sets for students who are returning to school.  You can buy a complete set or packs of items required for the sets e.g. 10 erasers, 5 packs pencils etc.  Please see picture below for the items we need.

Hand to Hand joined other organisations and the Chonburi Government to promote the anti violence against women and children campaign. The purpose of the day was to raise awareness about these issues and how people in the community can be part of the solution.  We also had lots of fun and it was great to see so many people involved in the day.
Community of Faith Churches
In our churches we have been reading the first 7 Psalms where David expresses his love for God and reasons why His Name should be praised.  Through reading the Scriptures, Prayer, Worship and crafts we expressed our own love for God and praised His Name as Holy.
Our zumba classes are enjoyed by all and even the elderly who are not so stable on their feet do the exercises whilst sitting in their chairs.  Some of the children had the chance to lead zumba classes and they did an excellent job.
We are praying for the El Shaddai family who will be moving to Canada soon.
Please join with us in praying for their visas to come through as soon as possible.
Thanks to many of our sponsors the children at Hand to Hand had the opportunity to be in a St Patrick's day parade.  The children had fun riding in the double decker red bus and being treated to drinks and snacks.
We've made lots of progress with our housing project this month.  Thanks to the Ophir Energy Co. for the donation of concrete pipes and sumps we need to provide drainage on the property.  Premier Oil & Gas helped to pump water out of the pond so it could be filled with land fill.  Thanks to our Hell's Angels friends who provided the donations to purchase the landfill.
We are happy to report we have a builder with whom we have signed contracts and our plans are currently in City Hall.
Our next step is to build a fence and the cost of this is more than we estimated.  If you would like to help by donating to this infrastructure please contact us.
A big thanks to Lolly and Kun Jiap who visit the hospital every week sharing God's love, pampers, teddy bears and a word of hope.
There will be a chance for families to have Songkran fun at the Prime Time on Soi 9 restaurant on the 9th April.  There will be games and water fun and alos an opportunity for people to bring any unwanted items for a buy swap and sell.  If you want to come to this event please drop us a line so we can make sure we have you catered for.
