Hiro Kone is a New York based musician and producer working with modular synthesizers. You can stream her recent album Love is the Capital on The Quietus, an "exceptional debut LP" of experimental techno and soundscapes - Secret Thirteen selected it as one of the best releases of 2017. Hiro Kone's close collaborator is Drew McDowall (Coil) - their album The Ghost Of Georges Bataille was released on Bank Records this month, with a recent interview on The Quietus discussing the collaborative project. Her next solo album is scheduled to be out on Dais Records in August.
Hiro Kone is in Europe 17 May - 14 June and has several dates available - contact Karolina
Wetware build on the legacy of industrial music fused with confrontational performance. Their debut LP Automatic Drawing on Dais Records has been proclaimed as "hallucinatory evocation of both noise and dance traditions, a dark tour of an industrial dreamland". Vocalist Roxy Farman steals audience’s attention immediately, using her body in tandem with her voice as a weaponized vehicle for the duo's anxiety filled performance. Matthew Morandi cut his teeth in the electronic music world through his solo tech-industrial project Jahiliyya Fields and as a member of Inhalants (L.I.E.S. Records). The synergy that developed between Farman and Morandi has been explosive. Wetware’s live antics and behaviour has caused alarm amongst their local audiences, earning them a reputation of an incredible live act. Here's Dais Records 'Automatic Drawing' press release, Noisey interview + album stream, and a track from Salpinx EP released earlier by BANK Records.
Wetware are in Europe 29 May - 24 June, performing at an array of events including Supersonic Festival in Birmingham (curated by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe), Saturnalia Festival at Macao in Milan, and Herrensauna at Tresor in Berlin, and still have several dates available - contact Karolina
YPY is a solo project by an Osaka-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and birdFriend label boss Koshiro Hino. Hino plays a central role in the four-piece minimalist instrumental band Goat and a hardcore induced percussive outfit Bonanzas. Without being confined to a certain genre, his unruly outputs encompass a wide variety of styles, often with a particular focus on percussive elements, from dance floor friendly techno and house tracks to much headier and noisier experimental excursions - as detailed in Juno Plus and Japan Times.
YPY's debut full-length Zurhyrethm (EM Records) was followed by 2020 (Where To Now?) in February 2017. YPY expresses himself in extremely unique and highly improvisational live sets using cassette tapes - he's available throughout May with some dates still available - contact Yuko
All the best,
