News from Boulder Nordic Sport Regarding BNS-BNC Team Night And Annual Special Pricing

BNS Team Night is Wednesday, October 7 from 3pm-8pm. A few quick reminders for your club members:

  • Team night pricing will only be honored from 3p-8p, October 7
  • Checks are preferred payment, all credit card transactions will be charged a 3% processing fee
  • Plan on spending a significant amount of time at Team Night—our staff is limited and we will have many, many people to serve
  • Most orders will be fulfilled between October 20 and November 15, however the deadline for order fulfillment is December 10. Orders that we are unable to fulfill after that date will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued.
  • Proof of membership will be required at time of purchase (we can be flexible on this, ie a payment receipt or email from club officers is acceptable).
*Please remember to be prepared as listed above and thank Boulder Nordic Sport for continuing to offer this special service and pricing to Boulder Nordic Club members.

Coming Up This Autumn - Expo Date And More
  • The Boulder Nordic Junior Race Team / Boulder Nordic Club Ski Swap and Expo will take place on Wednesday November, 4th at the Boulder High School cafeteria.
    • Buy and sell used gear while supporting the BNJRT
    • Details will follow as the date approaches.
  • The BNC holds its Annual General Meeting in the fall.  This is when the board of directors is elected.  Details will follow.
  • The North Boulder Park webcam is being replaced.
  • The possibility of a kiddie lease fleet of skis is being worked on right now.  This has been a tough one to solve.
  • The BNC is beginning to manage its membership data better.  The data will stay secure.  It will probably result in a membership renewal email being sent to members and former members.  Don't worry, it will be infrequent and brief and efficient.
  • We're collaborating on two potential pilot grooming sites
  • We're looking for a little help too, see below regarding volunteering for the BNC.
The BNC is approaching its 25th or 30th anniversary, depending on it's figured.  Not bad for a small community nonprofit institution.  Thank you for your support all this time!
Want to Volunteer for The BNC?

We've got a few jobs we could use some help with.  They're broken into little pieces so that they are manageable for someone willing to help.
  • Board of Directors.  Every autumn the BNC has an Annual General Meeting.  This is when the Board of Directors is elected.  It's great time to learn more about the BNC and approach the BNC about being a director.
  • Partner/Sponsor/Supporter Admin.  Lots of the BNC's relationships in the community start from a desire to support the BNC or old connections between individuals.  What the BNC needs is someone to tend to these relationships about once a year.  Go around, speak to people face to face, see how they're feeling, and maybe politely remind them to re-up their support to the BNC.
  • Social Media/Newsletter/Website Assist.  Help unload this from current volunteers who are not going away but they could use a hand.  There is a paid contractor who does the heavy lifting and technical stuff.
Contact info@bouldernordic.org if you're interested and thanks!

Way Down Here at the Bottom, A Reason to Give Money to The BNC

The BNC just exited its first ever fundraising campaign.  It was a success and we purchased a grooming rig for CU South.  We're not about to enter a cycle of never ending fundraising though--that's no fun.

But we could use a trailer.  A big trailer.  Currently, our storage and transport system for CU South is not ideal.  A trailer would also save us money in the long run and make operations more efficient.  What's it gonna take? Anywhere from $5,000-$12,500.

This trailer would be big enough to put some very visible sponsor graphics on the sides.  So, if you want, we will even put a big photo of your smiling face on it...if you help us come up with some cash.  Contact info@bouldernordic.org if you'd like to chat.
Support The BNJRT Without Spending Any (Extra) Money

King Soopers gives 5% back to BNJRT.  You can help BNJRT to collect more of this money simply by using a Re-Loadable Gift Card.  If you are willing to load the card at the store and use it, BNJRT would love to give you one of their cards!!
Please email Michelle Considine at michconsidine@yahoo.com with your address and she will send you a card.  For more details, read below:

These cards come loaded with $2.50.  You take them into any King Soopers or City Market and use your credit card to load them (getting your miles or cash back!)  If you put, say, $400 dollars onto your card, you will be able to spend $400 dollars. The cards can be re-loaded over and over again.  King Soopers will send the 5% to BNJRT directly. We ask that you commit to loading at least $100 onto your card so that BNJRT recovers their cost. Thank you in advance; this money can really add up for BNJRT.  (The more you ski, the more you eat!)  You can send any questions to Michelle at the above address.  Thanks again, from BNJRT
.
