D181 Cares: Clothing & Supplies Drive

From Feb. 24-March 4, CHMS will be collecting donations of new or gently used clothing, shoes, books, toys and/or new pajamas, socks and underwear for “D181 Cares.” This is a districtwide effort to benefit the Chicago based non-profit Cradles to Crayons. All donations can range in size from infant to adult medium. Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive. For more information, click HERE.

Rotary Club Exchange Program

The Rotary Club of Hinsdale is looking for a family to host its 2019-20 exchange student, Akane Lopez, from March through June 2020. She is 17 years old, a junior at HCHS, a strong English speaker, and comes from Chiapas, Mexico. The program encourages Rotary Exchange Students to live with at least two families while in the U.S. Akane has been residing with the Karim family in Hinsdale since August. Host family responsibilities include treating the student as your own child, not a guest. The Rotary is happy to arrange for personal meetings with Akane, and also make the Karims available for questions. For more information, call Tom Norton, President of the Hinsdale Rotary, at (312) 909-0003.
