May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Since 1992, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month has been officially observed annually in May to celebrate the contributions that generations of these groups have made to American history, society, and culture. This month, we celebrate the contributions of Americans that descend from all of Asia and the Pacific Islands such as: Hawaii, China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Samoa; as well as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.
There is no single story of the AAPI experience, but rather a diversity of contributions that enrich America’s culture and society and strengthen the United States’ role as a global leader.
If you would like to help CHMS celebrate this special month, please see Mrs. Santini in Student Services.
