Washington, DC Trip Info Night 10/21!

The 8th grade Washington, DC Field Trip Info Night is on Thursday, October 21 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at CHMS! This event will provide more details on the trip and is just for the parents and/or guardians of 8th grade students (please do not bring students).

See you there!

Eagle Cafe Cookie Explosion (and Clarification)

Hello CHMS families,

Covid restrictions and guidelines continue to impact what we can offer our students by way of “Spirit Lunches” (when we used to have the options of Brama, HRI, etc. which we hope will return again soon!).

Thus, the PTO was excited to offer the cookie cafe that was created as our first offering as working toward a “Spirit Lunch 2.0” for students and families! And BONUS, we could provide for our Angel Fund in the process, and even tie it to Unity Day!

What we didn’t anticipate was that all 500 cookies would sell out in only four days. We also didn’t anticipate that the sale would cause confusion or even feelings of exclusion which was definitely not our goal or intention.

Like previous Spirit Lunch, any Eagle Cafe offering is an optional offering. Parents can decide to participate if interested. Unfortunately, also akin to Spirit Lunch, the offering may not be a product that can accommodate all dietary needs. Rest assured, for Spirit Lunch 2.0 moving forward, we will work harder to explore offerings that are more inclusive.

We are so thankful for the support and feedback of our CHMS community!

National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 18 – 22

This week we are recognizing National School Bus Safety Week to promote the importance of school bus safety in our community. This year’s National School Bus Safety Week student poster focuses on the importance of knowing the “danger zone.” Check it out with your family. For more safety tips, click HERE.
