Walk in the shoes of your 7th or 8th grader! All 7th and 8th grade parents are invited to attend Curriculum Night this Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hear from CHMS administration and meet your child’s teachers.
Join us on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. in the MRC for our first PTO meeting of the year. The featured speaker will be Dr. Levi Brown, our Principal, presenting “Middle School 101” – everything a parent needs to know about CHMS that your middle schooler doesn’t know or isn’t telling you. If you are not able to attend the morning session, there will be an evening session on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in the MRC
Seventh grade students have a wonderful opportunity for interactive learning and team building on a field trip to Irons Oaks on Wednesday, September 18. Students will participate in the Teams Challenge Course, not the High Ropes Course, Climbing Tower, or Power Pole. Students were given the field trip information and waiver in advisory on or before Wednesday, September 4.
Students must have a signed waiver in order to participate at Irons Oaks. Please have your child return the signed waiver to his/her advisor as soon as possible.
Seventh graders will attend the outdoor Irons Oaks field trip despite any unfavorable weather conditions. We highly recommend that your child comes to school dressed in layers. We spend the entire day outside engaging in team-building activities. Students who are under-dressed will be cold throughout the day. Students are reminded to bring a sack lunch, and no peanuts/tree nuts can be packed in field trip lunches. Please make sure that all items packed in the lunch are disposable/recyclable.
Do you enjoy bass fishing? Or care about the environment? Maybe you have always wanted to be in a musical play or love trying to solve the Rubik’s cube? Or you have always wanted to represent CHMS at public events as our schools mascot Eddie the Eagle! Well, there is a club or activity right here for you at CHMS! The PTO welcomes all students to attend the Clubs and Activities Fair on Thursday, September 26, 2019 right after school at 3:15:4:15 in the cafeteria. There are over 40 different clubs, activities, and sports available for students to be involved in at CHMS. Come get information on all of the wonderful club and activities offered by talking to the teacher supervisors and students in the club. There will be raffle prizes too! Bus service will be provided for those students that regularly take the bus home.
We need parents to serve as mock interviewers for the 8th grade Real World Day on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27. If you are able to help, please sign up below. This is a fun and interactive way to be a part of your child’s educational experience in 8th grade.
