Curriculum Night Thank You
Thank you to everyone who attended our curriculum nights. It was great to see all of the new faces and also touch base with those of you whom I’ve gotten to know over the years. I am always impressed by how many parents come out for these evenings. Being informed and involved parents creates the best opportunities for your child to be successful here at CHMS. We also appreciated the feedback that was shared with us regarding the opening presentations and the impressive energy that the teachers possess. If you have feedback about anything at CHMS, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Sherman or me.
Magazine Drive Is Off and Running!
Thank you for your continued support of our PTO’s largest fundraiser! Remember, renewals count the same as new subscriptions so encourage your children to simply offer to renew magazines that people are already receiving. Even if the magazine is not up for renewal, the renewal will add additional time to the subscription. For example, I read Sports Illustrated weekly and my subscription now doesn’t expire until December of 2016.
Communicating with CHMS
When communicating with the school, please start at the level that is closest to where the information can be obtained. Often times, this contact with the school will be with your child’s teacher, advisor, team leader, social worker or the office staff. If the information that is shared doesn’t meet your needs or if the situation has not been resolved to a satisfactory manner, please ask who is the next person within CHMS that you can talk to about your question or issue. Of course, with all of this said, if you are concerned about the safety and security of your child or other students or need further assistance, please contact Mrs. Sherman or me via email or telephone.

CHMS Chipotle Fundraising Night
CHMS Chipotle Night a HUGE Success!
What a great CHMS community! Thanks so much for making our first Chipotle fundraising night of the school year a resounding success. In just four hours last Tuesday, we raised $2,900! That's the largest CHMS Chipotle night ever! These fundraisers help support many PTO initiatives. They also supplement our ongoing goal to raise money for new technology that the D181 budget does not provide. Thank you again!
8th Grade Immigration Day This Week!
This Wednesday, September 24th is Immigration Day for CHMS 8th graders. The students will take on the identity of an immigrant and reenact the processing through Ellis Island. The event is part of their study of US Immigration from the late 1800's - mid 1900's. Students are encouraged to wear a simple costume to represent their immigrant.
Box Tops Have Begun!
Just a reminder that CHMS has begun collecting Box Tops to raise money for our school! When packing lunches, look for Box Tops on many products, such as Go-Gurt, Mott’s applesauce and juice, Nature Valley granola bars, Chex Mix, and Betty Crocker products such as fruit roll-ups. Box Tops can be dropped in the collection box in the CHMS office. Thank you for your support!
