Dear CHMS Families,
As you may recall from last year when this was initiated, our amazing PTO sponsors our staff appreciation award, the “Best of the Nest” with a premium parking spot for the winner! Staff members nominate each other based on:
- Who has inspired you?
- Who is making you a better staff member?
- Who is making your day more enjoyable?
- Who is doing great things for kids?
- Who is consistently in your corner?
- Who is implementing innovative strategies in the building?
This award continues to demonstrate the kind and giving staff we have here at CHMS. The incredible words that are written toward each other in response to the thoughtful actions taken are inspiring.
This month, Mrs. Jamie Guerin, (7th grade teacher) was our lucky winner! A few comments shared about her were: You are a wonderful leader. Thank you for everything you do for us on the Building Leadership Team. I really appreciate you!
Please congratulate her if you happen to run into her when you are visiting us at CHMS!
Dr. Levi Brown
Principal, Clarendon Hills Middle School
Thanks to everyone who has donated to the annual CHMS PTO fundraiser, “Turnabout 2019-2020″. We have had 10 percent of CHMS families donate so far.
The funds earned through “Turnabout 2019-20” directly benefit programs that enrich and enhance your student’s school experience at CHMS. $20K of PTO donations raised annually are used to fund:
- teacher supplies and curriculum needs at each grade level
- MRC needs
- school motivational speakers and assemblies
- teacher/staff appreciation events and more
The additional $15K we hope to raise this year will be used to fund these special projects:
- purchase sound absorbing panels to the cafeteria
- purchase exercise equipment to be used in PE classes, such as, rowing machines and airbikes
The PTO cannot function without your generous support, so please consider making a donation.
Grab a Partner: $150

You should have received an email on 9/30 inviting you to create a Membership Toolkit Account. Membership Toolkit is our new online directory provider. We need ALL parents to verify/confirm their personal data in Membership Toolkit ASAP using the app on your phone or your computer. Download the Membership Toolkit app or the URL for Membership Toolkit on a computer is: https://chmspto.membershiptoolkit.com/.
Please click HERE for more detailed information and tips on using Membership Toolkit.
We will no longer be using Remind for text messages. This year we will send out PTO announcements/reminders via push notifications and email using the Membership Toolkit system and you must allow the system to send you notifications. To do this, go to Settings in your profile and slide the toggle to green at Allow Notifications.
Thank you for your assistance with the smooth transition to Membership Toolkit , our new online directory provider and communication system. If you have any other questions, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why does it feel like even high-performing kids seem to be acutely stressed and lacking motivation? In The Self-Driven Child, clinical neuro-psychologist Dr. William Stixrud and teen motivational coach Ned Johnson discuss today’s common stressors and describe compassionate, concrete solutions to help children of all ages move from feelings of powerlessness to purpose, ready to take on new challenges on the real road to success.
