Just a Heads Up...

Calling All 7th Grade Parents:

The 8th Grade Graduation Dinner and Dance will be held the evening of Wednesday, June 4th. The 7th grade parents traditionally decorate for the dance and staff the buffet-style dinner. Next year, it will be our own students' special time and we will benefit from the support of the 7th grade parents.

We still need help on the following dates:
1) Tuesday, June 3 (Need 6 more volunteers) from 7-9 pm to help decorate the gym (This is a great one for the dads to help with!)
2) Wednesday, June 4--Day (We need 10 additional volunteers) from 1:30-4 pm—Finish decorating gym after PE classes are finished for day. It's fine to come for part of the time (preferably earlier). The more people we have, the quicker this will go
3) Wednesday, June 4--Evening (We need 4 more) 5:45-7:30 pm --Serving Dinner (Tons of fun to see the graduates dressed up and excited about the dance!)

Please follow this link to SignUpGenius to volunteer:

If you have any problems signing up or questions, please don't hesitate to contact Angela Crews at crews045@yahoo.com or by phone at (630)734-3397.  Thank you for making this a special night for our 8th graders!!!

Back to School Day--Save the Date!

Mark your calendars for CHMS Back to School Day, Wednesday, August 13th. It's a special day for students to get their schedules, pick up purchased school kits, move in to lockers, get their school picture taken and more! Watch for more details coming this summer.

Save Locker Shelves

If you purchased a locker shelf last fall, remind your child to bring it home so it can be used again next year.  The 9” locker shelves in use by most 6th graders can be converted to use in the 18” lockers given to most 7th and 8th graders.  To convert the shelf to the larger locker you will need to purchase an extender piece at Back to School Day in August for roughly $6.  If you are graduating and no longer want your locker shelf the PTO will have bins in the halls at locker cleanout time to collect your gently used shelves for those in need.

CHMS Box Tops for 2014-15

Starting next year, the PTO Box Tops Committee will start collecting coupons from participating products to supplement our fundraising efforts. Why not start saving them during the summer months? Whether you will be a returning family or a family that is leaving but still wants to support our school, please save those coupons starting now. We will be collecting them in the fall. Final Eagle Cafe Spirit Lunch

Many thanks to all the students and staff that participated in our 4th quarter Eagle Cafe lunch with Home Run Inn last Friday.  It was a huge success and the PTO looks forward to offering this fun lunch alternative once each quarter next year too.

Attention HCHS Bound Parents:

If your 8th grader is headed to HCHS, check out the details for their inaugural Book Swap Event.  Save the information for this summer when you receive your child’s schedule (around July 14th).  Sounds like a great way to get books for a fraction of the original price or rental cost.  Here are the details:
