Last Call for PTO Registration

If you received an email last week because you have not yet completed your CHMS PTO registration for the 2021-22 school year, you still have time until Friday, October 1st. Membership in the PTO gives access to our directory, allows voting rights on PTO matters, and most importantly it supports our many PTO events and activities. If you are interested in joining the CHMS PTO you can click HERE to be taken directly to the registration page on our CHMS PTO website.

New Library Shelving

Our CHMS library received some updates courtesy of the PTO! Students are greeted at the library entrance with a new rolling book shelf that features all of the latest and greatest titles and also doubles as a search station for students.

Rotary Run Supports D181! Sign up Today!

Support the D181 Foundation and local nonprofits by signing up for the Rotary Run Charity Classic! All ages can walk or run in this year’s race the morning of Sunday, Oct. 3. The World Famous D181 Mascot Race will also return where you can cheer on our school’s mascot and get a picture afterward!

The Rotary Run is Sunday, October 3 at The Community House. The first race has an 8:30 a.m. scheduled start.

The Community Speaker Series Presents Jamil Zaki on 10/5

Dr. Jamil Zaki – The War for Kindness
Tuesday, October 5th 7pm

Join us for this Zoom webinar with Dr. Jamil Zaki, professor of psychology at Stanford University and the director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab. In  his book, The War for Kindness, he weaves together the latest science with engaging real-world stories to offer us a revolutionary perspective on empathy and how to develop it as a skill. He believes that kindness is not a sign of weakness but a source of strength.

With warmth, wit, and straightforward exercises that can be swiftly implemented, Dr. Zaki shows audiences of all ages how to change their professional, student, creative, and personal relationships for the better.
