AHW travels to Sheridan for a This Place Matters community meeting about the importance of Sheridan's historic places
The Alliance for Historic Wyoming (AHW) traveled to Sheridan at the end of March and beginning of April for a weekend of historic preservation events. The events began on Wednesday with a public talk from AHW executive director Carly-Ann Anderson about Wyoming's Carnegie Libraries at the Sheridan County Fulmer Library. The talk accompanied the Alliance for Historic Wyoming's traveling Cowboy Carnegies exhibit. On Thursday night, the Alliance helped facilitate a discussion among many local stakeholders at the historic Sheridan Inn about Sheridan's current historic building stock, as well as preservation challenges and successes in the city. The weekend concluded with tours of buildings in downtown Sheridan. Thanks to all of the sponsors and partners who helped make the event possible.
Join us for a tour of some of the country's best preserved historic trails! This tour was originally scheduled to take place last September during the annual Preserve Wyoming conference, but several days of rain beforehand left the trails and BLM access roads a muddy mess and the tour had to be cancelled. The tour has been rescheduled for June 17th, 2017.
