We are currently accepting applications for a number of positions at the State, Society & Governance in Melanesia Program at the Australian National University.  

About SSGM: The State, Society and Governance in Melanesia (SSGM) program is a vibrant research unit, comprising of 30 academics and as many PhD students, situated in the School of International, Political and Strategic Studies (IPS), at the Australian National University in Canberra. SSGM is the leading international centre for applied research into contemporary governance issues in Melanesia, Timor-Leste and the broader Pacific. In addition to its scholarly goals SSGM maintains a strong commitment to active engagement with policy communities in the region and Australia.

Deputy Convenor
SSGM currently seeks to appoint a highly energetic scholar with extensive professional experience as Deputy Convenor. The appointee will be responsible for establishing and leading a dedicated policy hub within SSGM and for developing and maintaining deep relations with key external partners, particularly DFAT.

Program Manager - Communications & Reporting (Professional)

SSGM currently seeks to appoint a highly energetic Program Manager to manage reporting and monitoring and evaluation of the funding agreement between ANU and DFAT. They will also play a key role in the conception, development and implementation of SSGM's programs and provide strategic advice to the SSGM Convenor.
