Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig!

All my suitcases are unpacked! Things have migrated to their new homes and I feel like I am finally settled in again. When I got back, Kady was exhausted from the super busy schedule in July and I was tired from the long week getting back to Brazil. So Kady declared we were running away for a couple days. It was fun to get away and rest and enjoy some new sights for three days. It slowed the unpacking but was such an encouragement.

Kelly, our new sister in Christ!
Praise the Lord I was able to make contact with several ladies again in the last month and will be teaching two weekly Bible studies. Kelly trusted the Lord as her Savior last week! Please pray for Kelly and Aicle as we begin to study God’s Word together on Wednesdays. I will be discipling Mariana again when she returns from the US in October. I have also begun teaching the children Sunday nights and am partnering with Vanessa to head up the children’s ministry at church. Pray as Vanessa draws closer to her due date mid-November. The last couple of things I need to do to be caught up are to get the receipting in order and turned in to the mission’s accountant and, also, several visits to women from the church or that we are evangelizing.
Meet Daniel (middle) and Nathan (right).
Prayer Requests:
1. Praise the Lord for renewed contacts in the community.

2. Praise the Lord for the salvation of Kelly.

3. Pray Kelly and Aicle would grow in their walk with the Lord.

4. Pray for Nathan and Daniel as they serve here through November 7th and prepare to teach the teens during conference.

5. Pray for Gustavo and Autumn as they begin their new life together in the US and prepare for future ministry in Europe.

6. Pray for preparations for our Annual BGFM Field Conference October 15-22nd.

7. Please pray for wisdom and God’s direction in a decision I will need to make.

There has been another big change here at home. Nathan Sneed and Daniel Jacques have joined us for a two months internship at the Sapiranga Church Plant. They are getting a taste of missionary life: language classes, music ministry, teaching English, building relationships, cleaning, discipleship, and helping wherever they are needed. They have already been a great blessing in the two weeks since their arrival. They will also be teaching the teens during conference in October. Please pray for the Lord’s clear direction in their lives and a deeper walk with Him during their time here in Brazil.
A Blast from the Past – Part 2
I want to introduce you to Gustavo from our youth group of 2010 and 2011 in the Campo Bom Church. It has been so amazing how God has worked in the life of Gustavo. He has truly been transformed since those days as a “squirrely” teenager who showed little respect for authority or the church.

Gustavo attended The Campo Bom Church with his family from 2010-2015 and served each summer at the Word of Life camp. Following High School, he went to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary for their two year program. During this time God did a work in his heart and life and directed him into full time ministry. That is also where he met his fiancé, Autumn! After graduation from Word of Life they served in the Chech Republic for a couple years, again with Word of Life. Their wedding is scheduled for October 15th in the United States.

So, what now? They are both finishing up their bachelor’s degrees online this year through Tyndale University and, Lord willing, Gustavo hopes to attend Bible Baptist Seminary the fall of 2020. The goal is to complete his master’s in divinity and possibly a doctorate. Why so much education? Their desire is to be involved in church planting in Europe. Specifically, in Norway or another Scandinavian country. The higher education can be a tool to allow him access to the country.

Gustavo and Autumn ask for prayer for the transition to the US and married life. Also, for them as they work through the Green Card and then citizenship processes. And finally, for the Lord’s provision to study at the Baptist Bible Seminary.

If you would like more information you can reach Gustavo at: guskpinto@gmail.com.
