Grant Applications Workshop - now accepting applications



- Are you thinking of applying for a research grant?
- Would you like guidance on improving your chances of success at getting funded?

The Grant Applications Workshop, run by the RDS South West, is designed to help you make your application as persuasive as possible. This free one-day workshop will next be held on Wednesday 4 March 2015 at Taunton Racecourse, Somerset. The deadline for receipt of completed application forms and research proposals is 1pm Monday 2 February 2015.

Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme webinar
The HTA programme will be inviting applications in end of life care as part of the usual researcher-led call opening in January. You can hear more about the call at a webinar on 19 January 2015 from 2pm - 3pm.

Public involvement jargon buster
INVOLVE have developed a jargon buster or glossary of words containing the definitions of some of the terms commonly used in public involvement in research.

The definitions were developed by working in consultation with a panel of researchers and a panel of people who use services.

Programme Development Grants
Programme Development Grants are designed to increase the rate and number of successful applications for a full Programme Grant. Applications are now being accepted to:  The closing date for applications is 10 March 2015 by 1pm. Read more and apply.
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme
The HTA Programme is accepting applications to its commissioned workstream for the following topics of continuing interest:
  • 14/227 - HbA1c targets for patients with type 2 diabetes
  • 14/228 - What is the best way to deliver pre-operative smoking cessation interventions
  • 14/229 - Mechanical Insufflation-Exsufflation devices for assisted cough in neuromuscular disease
The closing date for applications is 12 May 2015, by 1pm. Read more and apply.

The HTA Programme is also accepting applications on the following commissioning briefs, in the areas of primary research and evidence synthesis:
  • 14/224 - Opioids in chronic non-malignant pain
  • 14/225 - Collagenase treatment for moderate Dupuytren's contracture
  • 14/226 - Septoplasty for a deviated nasal septum
The closing date for applications is 12 May 2015, by 1pm. Read more and apply.
