A new distillery, Corpse Reviver, and White Whiskey

A new distillery

Lets see...Federal Law, State Law, Find a location, Fire Dept., Health Dept., Still Design, Plumbing, Boiler, Insurance, Reception build-out, Vendors, Shipping, Marketing, Marketing, Marketing...

Finally, we can focus on the original thought which was, I want to make the best damn whiskey I possibly can; I want to offer flavors that are unique, rich, and complex; I want to have fun meeting people who also appreciate that something extra. It still ain't easy, with late nights schlepping hoses and cleaning tanks. But there are perks:  the bread-like smell of 500 gallons of fermenting beer; the happy gurgling sound of a good flow of high-proof, bone-white spirits as it comes off the still; and the final tasting/toast at the end of the batch.  Yeah, we'll hang in there.  - Andy & Cindy Harthcock

Corpse Reviver #2

The Corpse Reviver is actually a whole class of drinks - essentially a "Hair of the dog" for use after an evening of overindulgence.  We do not recommend the excess or the morning cure, but the drink itself is quite invigorating and should be tasted.  As with all "Reviver" recipes, the amounts are mostly equal proportions.  Here it is:

1 oz Djinn Spirits Gin
1 oz. Cointreau
1 oz Lillet Blanc
1 oz fresh Myers lemon juice (or plain lemon)
3 drops Pernod (or any licorice flavor)

- Shake in an iced shaker and garnish with a cherry (or lemon spiral)

Distillery News

Distilled Gin Batch #1 is now available. The picture above shows the kettle being charged for the final run. Bearing a strong botanical flavor, this is a gin with attitude.

White Whiskey #2 will be freshly bottled and available on 18-Jan-14.  Our first release of this sold out in 2 weeks.  You've been warned.
