I’ve lived in New York for almost 10 years and I’ve never done as much as I’ve done during the pandemic. Gone are the days shuttling between workshops in India and Peru and traveling back and forth to tradeshows living out of a carry-on for most of the year. I’ve found myself traveling within NYC to have day trips like an over-eager tourist each and every weekend.

Some days it was simply going to a beach east of Rockaway or finally going to the Bronx for something other than a baseball game; it’s been illuminating. Also, I never left the city because I thought I’d rather take my chances with the virus than with my mother’s kugel.

So, I didn’t really even leave for an extended period of time, which gave me more time to play in the studio and with some cameras that I hadn’t used so much before. So, here’s a menagerie of my pandemic life: mostly passing the time but also finding pleasure in a different kind of NY, a slower, more natural one.
