Dominic Young to stand down as CEO of The Copyright Hub Foundation

CTO Caroline Boyd to be interim COO

The Copyright Hub Foundation announced today that Dominic Young is stepping down from his role as CEO to set up a new business in the private sector. He will be leaving the Hub on the 31 May 2016 (today).

Dominic Young said: This has been a great project to work on and I have loved helping create the vision for the Hub and driving it forward to its present position. My intention was always to return to the commercial sector, and I am now leading a major opportunity which will occupy all of my time. I will continue to support the Hub in any way I can."

Richard Hooper CBE,  Honorary President and founding Chairman of the Copyright Hub Foundation said: Dominic created the Hubs technology strategy and developed it with great success at the Hub Foundation.  There are already 10 public applications of the technology working, with 100 more use cases waiting for implementation. I would like to thank him personally for all he has done to get us to where we are today.

Mark Bide, the new Chairman of the Copyright Hub Foundation, said: The Copyright Hub Foundation was extremely lucky to be able to secure Dominic Young as its CEO; he brought technical and commercial acumen and boundless energy and enthusiasm to the task of taking an idea to a practical reality. The Copyright Hub Foundation will not be the same without him, and we will all miss him. We wish him all the very best in his next venture.

Caroline Boyd (who has served as the CTO of Copyright Hub Foundation for the last 2 years) has been appointed COO and will take over Dominics responsibilities in the interim while a successor is sought.

Caroline said: "I am looking forward to supporting and developing the work of those who are already using the Hub and bringing on many of the systems waiting to integrate with it. Thanks to the Digital Catapult the code is fully live and we have some exciting new partners ready to come online."

Mark Bide said: The board is extremely fortunate to have in Caroline the ideal individual to manage the organisation through a period of transition. Caroline has been responsible for building the community of proprietors of applications, both those that have already been implemented and those in the course of implementation. She also has a close relationship with our other key stakeholders, and will provide an essential thread of continuity in execution and leadership as the CHF moves from successful completion of its initial phase to the next stage in the delivery of its vision."
