Whether you're playing hard or working hard, a subtly twisted posture can ingrain itself in your muscles. This can cause pain just about anywhere, as compensation patterns move outward from your spine and pelvis into your shoulders, neck, jaw, hips, and legs.
You can test for a twist by standing as shown and bringing your right hip forward without moving anything else. Then switch and bring your left hip forward. If one direction feels easier than the other, that's the direction that's become ingrained. Just catching yourself and twisting the opposite way is therapeutic, especially if hip or leg tension changes as you twist.
